The Village at Colbert Park has been my very first apartment and I would say it is amazing! The photos shown on the website are all accurate and even better in person. I have lived here for almost a year and have already signed my lease for the future. The rooms are spacious and up to date as well as the appliances. The staff in the leasing office are always very friendly and attentive. The main building, which is where the leasing office and all the other amenities are located, is always decorated and leaves a cozy vibe. They always have fun little events and giveaways going on for their residents and even for the pets! I remember I won some airpod pros once and another time when they were giving away pet gift bags. The community is quiet, fun, as well as safe. I frequently take walks to the park that is across from this beautiful pond that is about 3 minute walk away. If you are thinking about renting here, you should! I recommend them 10/10.
The property itself is lovely, no complaints about the physical property, amenities, or the surrounding area. Just keep in mind, there are active train tracks near by, and depending on which building block you are in, it can be very noisy. With that being said, I would not suggest taking over a unit via a delegation. The unit that I moved into was in utter disrepair, smelly, and dog fur everywhere. The damages, dander, and smell were noted and reported; unfortunately, the fresh-to-lease in conjunction with move-out inspections took precedence over those concerns. Upon move-out, the documented pre-existing damages were attempted to be charged to the account. As of April 2022, a new manager took over and replaced almost all of the office staff. From talking with other tenants, delivery vendors, and even the post office; the new management is not looked keenly upon. Also, if you have a roommate or someone who might be collecting your packages every now and again; with the new management, you are required to send them an e-mail, and jump through some hoops to my understanding they might not be allowing third party pickup any longer, So please be forewarned. For minor maintenance issues such as a missing screen, you need to be on their back to get those items attended to. Aside from the administrative issues and so forth; this is a fantastic property. The environment is great, wonderful surroundings, and I would imagine that a fresh unit is just wonderful in contrast to one taken via delegation. **With regards to packages received via USPS; the property has been known to reject packages or registered mail two in my case that is sent to the office for unknown reasons My passport sent via registered mail was rejected by the office; and still unrecoverable.
Lived here for 2 year's. This is also my first Apartment. Living with my sister. I'm Not completely alone. I love it here. This place has great amenities. Like a pool excise room. It even has a park. Not Owned by the apartment complex. We just happen to be next door. This place has reasonable prices that are not to bad. And it's not far from the U of I which helps if your a college student! They offer shuttles to and from the U of I, which is a bonus. Because who loves free transportation. I highly recommend living here. Because it's a great way to make to friends. And save money. During your college years. Why live anywhere else. live at the Village at Colbert Park!
Beware. We had many issues while living here, including ice forming on the walls of lower level bedrooms for a month during the winter. Even after moving out we are still having issues with them: We moved out last month and they are attempting to charge us for items that we did not receive keys to bedrooms and additional front door and mailbox keys. We are a couple and we rented the entire apartment and never received individual room keys nor did we have more than two front door and mailbox keys. They attempted to charge over $400 extra for this. They have not responded to phone or email to resolve this. They are under new management and everything has been a disaster since. You should disregard any reviews before the management change anything before 2022.
After living here for 5 months, I am glad to say that this is the best bang for your buck for apartments that I have ever seen. The resident events are frequent and high quality, and the maintenance team is so fast! I would highly recommend people to rent here.
The safest community I have lived very quite and clean. The office staff is wonderful and there to help in anyway they can. The manager Tiffany is always finding different ways to complete an request. Overall great experience‼
The Village used to be such a great place to rent, but in the two years I lived there it went down hill exponentially. Terrible customer service, and thats when they were there to answer the phone. Accused tenants of not turning in keys when they the village threw them away. As well as my friend who still rents there, they lost one of her pieces of furniture when they redid the carpet. Other tenants had found mold in their vents in other buildings. It used to be a fantastic place to rent, but now it’s unrecognizable with how the staff and management treats their tenants. I recommended this place to so many friends and I regret doing that. Hopefully it gets sorted out, but as of right now I would not recommend renting here.
Terrible management and maintenance. When we moved into our apartment there were several issues, including a flooded laundry room, black stains on the carpet, a broken microwave, holes in the walls among other things. We ended up having to resolve the laundry room issue ourselves and rent a carpet cleaner out of pocket because maintenance was unresponsive to our requests. It took them a month+ to resolve the other issues. There has been mold in our laundry room since we moved in that no one came to take care of. Now upon move out, they are trying to charge my roommate and I $350 for damage to the couch they provided. This couch had a few scratches on it when we moved in but I didn't note it on the move-in sheet because it didn't seem like anything but normal wear and tear - now they are making us pay an exorbitant amount for a couch that looks exactly the same as it did when we moved in. No one that I know who has lived at the Village had a positive experience. I would not recommend living here to anyone.
Highly recommend! I live here for three years during my 4 years of study in Champaign. The officers and staffs are super nice. I always get a prompt response for any request, such as maintenance, package delivery, etc. The apartment is roomy and well-furnished! Also, it is a quiet place to live, with a beautiful lake behind the apartments. Only 15 minutes drive to campus, 2 minutes drive to Walmart, 5 minutes drive to Savoy Plaza! The Village at Colbert Park is definitely a great choice for you!
I’m Abiola, I’m highly disappointed in the team handling this premises, I used to enjoy leaving in this apartment but things is currently going south, I just moved out of the states last year December because my visa got expired, I came for my Masters and I’m done. I always paid my rent on the first day of each month, almost stayed for 11 months, started with a sublease until I signed a full lease of my own in July, and I had 6 months left from my remaining signed lease, and they want me to keep paying even not being in the United States, these resident complex officials don’t understand to every rule there should be an exception they’re trying to put a bad debt on my record, but I won’t be conceding to that. I’m highly disappointed.
