A Christ centered facility for youth to come and learn about God all while Skateboarding, Biking, Rollerblading, and riding scooters!
The Way is a non-profit organization started by Village Chapel United Methodist Church in Ashville that is an outreach to the youth within the town as well as any who have a passion for skateboarding, biking, and just about everything with wheels. Admission is free to anyone who comes.
During the next five years, the vision is to have a full-time ministry leader on the premises, to have the skatepark open seven days a week, to add new equipment, and to have many area youth accept Jesus Christ into their lives. Additionally, the vision entails the skatepark ministry expanding and adding other related ministries that tackle the chains that continue to bind the youth in our community such as drug/alcohol addictions, the challenges of being a single parent/teen parents, hunger, homelessness and helplessness. As of December 2011, God has enabled us to reach many aspects of this five-year vision.
It is our prayer and dream that this endowment fund allow for the development, construction and operation of a new, much larger facility that will offer indoor/outdoor skating/biking, academic tutoring, career guidance, drug/alcohol rehabilitation, single parent assistance and more. The completion date is targeted for 2017.
