It was my first visit to The Well, and my first spin class ever. It was such a positive and community environment. Everyone was so welcoming and the Instructor, Danielle, was great...not to mention the music was amazing!!!! Although this was the hardest workout I've ever done and I couldn't do all the moves, I've already signed up for my second cycle class. Thank you.
I enjoy the music so much. I usually dread working out but good music goes a long way. It’s a mix of New hip hop/ Chicago hits/ cycling music. I enjoy guided workouts such as the ones I have access to at The Well. It motivates me to work hard when I'm around other people working hard. Anyone can do it! There are so many body types I am 25, 5’10”, 170lbs The biggest thing I like about The Well is that it feels like a family. Everyone knows each other and it's very inclusive. I don't feel like I stick out since I'm one of the few Hispanic people. I can't say the same about places like soul cycle.
The Well is a place where you come and it feels like home, like family, where all are welcome and made to feel safe in that space. It offers an array of classes that push you to do better and to want more from your workout. The classes are going to kick your butt but they make you push through, make you stronger wanting to come back for more. You can even get healthy meals and cold pressed juices to enjoy! But at the end of the day, you walk out of there knowing that you're better.
Updating: My package was not honored. Be sure to pay as you go or risk losing over $100 like myself. Also, your emails will also not be answered unless they have to cancel a class. You’ll get those fast. Good glasses but Poor management. Pay as you go and don’t fall for packages. When you do go, classes are better than the $20 spin classes I’ve taken at SoulCycle and others like it. Everyone in the classes are friendly and the music is super motivating. I can’t stand spin classes that just blare techno. This is not one of those places. The class I took yesterday had a DJ and actually went by faster than expected. It was awesome.
My Yoga class was amazing! The instructor, Rashidat, actually gave the history behind certain poses and taught us proper form. Most instructors just demonstrate. However Rashidat educated her students. I also love cycle class with Aaron. His energy is unmatched and the class feels like one big dance party on a bike. Working out is fun again at The Well. I actually look forward to my classes instead of dreading them and skipping out.
It was an excellent workout, tough as ever, but good. For $10 it was affordable. The $25 Drop In rate is not affordable, but I was pumped to see the Flash Sale. The instructor, Aniya Foster, was personable and took time to check on everyone’s form and technique. 3 The Hard Way was my 1st class at The Well, but was just as good as my classes with Cycle Therapy! I would definitely go back.
To my knowledge, this was The Well's first fitness challenge. The Well is affiliated with Cycle Therapy. That being said participants of the challenge should have and are expected to have consistency. Consistency of the weigh in dates which started every Sunday, consistency of scales used and operable scales, consistency of the location of the scale, consistency of a leveled floor, consistency of body measurements being taken at the weigh-ins, consistency of weigh-in day of the weeks, consistency of where you can exercise at be it at The Well or a boutique gym and classes that are accommodating to all participants. Be cautious of rules being changed during any fitness challenge at The Well. Rules even as small as playing Bingo. Bingo games have never been the whole board it has always been horizontal, vertical or diagonal. In the case when I played it and I assumed I had Bingo I was told my whole board must have been completed to be the winner. Rules even being changed where you can exercise at in the middle of the challenge. My experience started with a weigh in on the black scale referred to scale #1 at the entrance/exit of door in the large studio. Two weeks later, my second weigh-in experience was on a different scale referred to scale #2 at a different location in the studio and was accounted for which was 9 pound decrease. My third weigh in was back to scale #1, the scale that more than half of the participants complained about and no one did anything about it. I knew that I had lost more pounds but the scale said that I had gained in spite of over 12 total inches lost and in spite of other members complaints of the scale's inaccuracies. Oh did I mention the floor isn't leveled? It's on some foamy kind of floor? Needless to say my coach heard my voice and used my scale that I took a picture of from home which showed a total 18 pound decrease since the beginning of the challenge. So this is scale#3. Now we are at my last weigh in. My last weigh in was back on the original scale scale #1 and in spite of other group members complaints of this scale, we continued to use it for all weigh-ins. Yes I lost 18 pounds according to this scale. But I believe it was a total of 25 or a little more. So first when you pay for anything, your voice must be heard. Secondly, if paying members complain about the scale or anything that is impartial, perhaps the owner should heed to the concerns and change for the clients that are being serviced. It's like giving a test to a class if all of your students are failing or not doing as well as expected, then you as a teacher may want to consider reteaching. There are so many complaints during this challenge and voices were not heard! From days that we were told to weigh in then it was found out that other members were allowed to weigh in on different days. This wasn't a fair challenge and I really believe I wasn't the only person who was misinformed. I am the voice for those who didn't want to speak or did speak and nothing was done about it. Be cautious!
