In the fall of 1982, a group of Columbus entrepreneurs started Wellington because they wanted a different kind of educational experience for their children. Our founders wanted to celebrate individuality. They wanted to build a community. They wanted to educate the whole person. Since its beginning, Wellington has been at the vanguard of teaching what matters, valuing experiences in the arts, athletics, and service equally with academics.
Today, Wellington provides a forward-thinking learning community with a caring, connected membership. Each member of our community looks after and respects one another, collaborates and interacts, and engages with the world. We are creating lifelong learners in our students and that philosophy shapes Wellington’s approach to delivering an exceptional educational experience.
We give students the tools and the opportunities to discover their unique potential. We help them build confidence by asking them to take risks and giving them a safe place to land.
