We are open Monday-Saturday for regular check ups, vaccines, and emergencies. We also offer a wide range of surgical procedures. Please call for information and to schedule an appointment.

Established in 1980 by Dr. Robert Ashman, The West Milford Animal Hosptial is a family owned business that specializes in small animal veterinary care. We pride ourselves in providing outstanding services and care, in addition to understanding and educating our clients. Our staff treats each patient as one of our own and strives to provide a hospital environment that is both welcoming and comfortable for you and your loved companion.

Just took my grandma doggie there for her rabies shot. She is a bit of a handful when it comes to the doctors visits, but everyone was very calm, friendly, helpful and made it a good experience for the both of us. We got a lot of great information, I felt we were treated respectfully and I feel good going back there the next time.

Super caring staff and the vet really cares about the animals. Took my cat to get neutered as part of the low cost spay program and is what a great choice. Everyone is kind and explained what to expect post procedure. Highly recommend.

We started using Dr. Ashman because our previous vets prices became astronomical.  We can get an appointment quickly and the office ladies are wonderful.  Dr. Ashman has always treated us and our pets wonderfully.  We are so happy to have found him through a recommendation from a friend.

As you will see below, some of these animals have been to, or are currently housed there until they find good homes.  There's no better time than Christmas to adopt a lonely animal & give them a warm, happy

Thank you with all of my heart to the Vet at this facility who did such a great surgery on my kittenVelvet. My Velvet healed within a few days after surgery. She started being super active around the house in a short period of time post surgery.  She is now her happiest self, bubbly and walking cute around the house. I appreciate your kindness and your professionalism. Your place is very clean, organized and the staff is knowledgeable and compassionate. I have no words to say how grateful I am to you. I can not thank Dr. Ashman and his staff enough for taking care of my chihuahua Goldie! Upon bringing her in they immediately scheduled her for emergency surgery the same day. I felt so comfortable leaving her there because of the compassion the doctor and staff showed towards Goldie and myself. Dr. Ashman called me that day to let me know surgery went well and she was recovering. He also checked in with me later that night to let me know she was still doing well. I really appreciated the time he spent with her through the night. I was luckily able to pick her up the next morning. Dr. Ashman went over the care process for her and how to administer her medication. And they even gifted her a blanket which is now her new favorite! The staff has answered any questions I have had since then, and I’m actually looking forward to bringing her back in for a check up. Goldie is almost fully recovered and back to her normal happy self! I can not recommend West Milford Animal Hospital enough. If I could give 10 stars I would! Thank you again!!

This is a great old school, no BS office..  Dr Ashman and his entire staff are excellent. Tons of years of experience and they know what's important.  They are not looking to make money off of you or your pet.  They are true animal  loving people...and in the business for that reason.

Been trusting Dr. Ashman since I was in elementary school. He’s seen my family through 3 dogs entire lives and every time we stop in, dr. Ashman provides such valuable information and services for our furry family members. I am so appreciative of everything Dr. Ashman did to help extend the life of my sick older best bud. If it wasn’t for Dr. Ashman and his wonderful staff, I can’t even imagine how bad it would have been. The staff are such great ladies as well. That Lisa at the front desk is such a wonderful personality to have around the office!

I took my newly adopted cat to see Dr Ashman after his practice came highly recommended. Our visit was short, but he was able to answer any and all questions. The office has flexible hours that can accommodate any schedule, and he is absolutely amazing with animals. We will absolutely be returning to the West Milford Animal Hospital again in the future since their staff was amazing and incredibly helpful.

Terrible horrible Vet! My amazing vet was out due to surgery, I took my dog here and should have realized when tge snarky girl on the phone told me"we have limited appointments" so you are tge referring vet and treat people unprofessional. My dog got extremely ill from the overdosed meds called on Friday they told us to stop the meds and call back on Monday. I called no response, no care about my dog that they almost killed her never reviewed the info I gave them about her. DON'T TAKE YOUR FUR BABIES here. I give itva negative 10!
