My family & I were extremely happy with our stay at the Westin. All staff were friendly & service was top notch. It was nice to have our vehicle handled by valet so we didn't have to figure out parking. It was also nice that housekeeping came in everyday & took care of picking up, stocking up the towels & making the beds. Convenient to the beach, shops, restaurants & much more all within walking distance. As a Marriott member I was very satisfied. Thank you!
We enjoyed our weekend stay at the Westin! Pros - The pool and the service and food at the pool were top notch. Beautiful views, relaxing atmosphere, and did I mention the service? - Cleanliness was really great here. Our room was cleaned daily and we had what we needed. - The Mexican restaurant Lona had really good enchiladas - especially with the red sauce and they had some of the best margaritas I've ever had. The atmosphere was great with even better views. Highly recommend! - Access to the beach is literally an elevator ride away Cons - If you see the word resort and are expecting a resort experience, this is not exactly that. I think the resort fee covers just beach chairs, bottled water and towels because you had to pay for EVERYTHING else. The service felt like resort service but if you want an umbrella at the beach, you have to pay an extra $30 so again, not sure about the resort fee lol
I live on Fort Lauderdale Beach in a wonderful boutique building - but when my husband and I are having a one night getaway and leaving our two year old with my mom - we want to stay near. So … we choose the Westin and it is always a hit. There are many hotels to choose from but we keeping going back to Westin because it is a sure thing. We always have a great room with all ocean gorgeous view. Room is fresh and clean. Staff is excellent with great attitudes and professional customer service. Amenities are fantastic and delicious trendy restaurant options with perfect water views. Close enough to all the hustle and bustle upbeat touristy fun spots but just a quick walk away to get back into a more relaxing vibe. Very good pricing on rooms for what you receive as well.
This hotel is the perfect beach-front hotel in Fort Lauderdale Beach. It is in the heart of Fort Lauderdale Beach, and has very easy beach access. The staff is incredibly friendly here. The bell hop Jocelyn seriously is the best ever. He has been working there for 15 years, and is super friendly, super helpful, and just gives out positive energy. His friendly greeting seriously helped me get right into vacation mode. Dexter and Princess at the front desk are also very friendly and helpful. My ocean front suite was so beautiful, and the Mexican cuisine restaurant downstairs that offers both breakfast and dinner really was incredible. The food is soo delicious! I loved my stay and will definitely be back!
May not be a major issue for some, but for people like me with diet restrictions celiac, a microwave in the room would have been very helpful. I requested one in my room, but they couldn't comply. They directed me to a shared microwave in the lobby. To reach the microwave, I had to take the elevator down 10 floors, across an expansive lobby, across a bridge and down a spiral set of steps. This isn't the first Marriott where this request has been turned down, but they were made available at other Marriott properties. I think they could have done better. This isn't anything major to cast a dark cloud over this resort. It is very well maintained, very contemporary in its furnishings, and in a very good location, within walking distance to other restaurants and shops. Rooms: Comfortable. Nearby activities: Beach right across the street. Food & drinks: Very good.
The location is great, the property is very well appointed and is right across from the beach with a walkway and an elevator down on to the sand basically. The resort fee is does come with some perks like two chairs and some welcome drinks from the onsite restaurant. The parking is a bit of a problem, only choice is valet...they don't let you park yourself even though there is a parking garage. The views out to the beach is amazing.
Really great Westin property with clean rooms, great fitness center and worthwhile food/beverage options. Really main complaint here was $48 to valet park your car. I know this seems to be standard in the area, but if you are trying to attract locals who want a staycation, this is a huge deterrent. If you are driving you are better off going to Miami Beach where there are public parking lots and more options to walk to. If you are flying in, by all means!
I was extremely disappointed by this hotel. I’m a platinum Marriott member and I’m rethinking why. The check-in process was very easy, the front desk staff, lovely and the valet staff very nice and fast to get your car. Major issues… The bathroom has a window that opens into the bedroom and only has a shutter door for closure. This is the most unnecessary feature in a hotel room. The air conditioner does not stay on. It gets hot in the room all night. We were put in a room that had a joining room door and we could hear everything from the room next door. The bathroom shower handle was broken and the water went from freezing to scalding hot and nothing in between. This was the most uncomfortable stay I’ve ever had at a hotel. There is a $42 daily resort fee and all you get is 1 free bottle of water, 2 beach chairs and some towels at the pool. The gift for being a platinum member is points or breakfast, I chose breakfast and it is coffee, juice, fruit and a croissant. The fruit is awful and the coffee is so strong hopefully your stomachs can handle it. I don’t recommend this place. Noteworthy details: I don’t recommend!!
My husband and I came here for our baby/honeymoon. We stayed for a full week. We were super impressed all around. All of the employees are very friendly. We had an incredible view. The walkway to the beach is super convenient. The pool and adjacent restaurant are excellent. We loved getting the nachos, wings, and Caesar salad from waves poolside grill. On one especially hot day when there weren’t any umbrellas available by the pool, an employee named Rey called his manager and got us a cabana because I was 7 months pregnant. It was a thoughtful gesture that really stood out to my husband and I. Everyone at the Westin is very friendly, responsive, and you feel super safe staying there. The location is awesome and close to the airport and main attractions of Ft.Lauderdale. We would definitely return.
My car was broken into under the care of valet . Valet manager, David, was very unresponsive and evasive when it came to reimbursing me for the damages which only amounted to $200. After weeks of HOUNDING him, and being very persistent, I was finally reimbursed. This issue should have been handled IMMEDIATELY. Communication was lacking as it was made very clear that all parties involved did not want to take responsibility for what occurred on their property, under their care. Your car is not safe nor monitored while in valet which is a charge of $30+ per night. I will not be back ! Better service and communication is expected of a hotel of this caliber. I had also called SEVERAL times asking to speak directly to Luisa or Robert, hotel management and I never once received a call back. The response posted by the hotel below is a “copy and paste” response at an attempt to save face. I still haven’t received a call from anyone at the hotel. Once I finally received my reimbursement, due to my own persistence, I was told to keep quiet because they obviously rail roaded the other victims of the vandalism. Marriott should have done better .
