Well as my trip comes to an end I will definitely say I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. Valet parking was excellent they took very good care of me my entire stay. My Room was big with lots of space house keeping kept it clean and smelling fresh every time I returned over all the westin galleria would be the only place I would recommend.
The room was clean and appeared a little larger than the average hotel room. The bathroom was nice and had white tea scented body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The location of the hotel is excellent! I especially loved the fact that self parking is free in the brown garage. The downside is I have to walk along West Alabama to enter the hotel when the Galleria is closed. If there's another way into the hotel from the parking garage, I haven't figured that out yet. The pool leaves a lot to be desired. It's literally a rectangle with no shade. That's it. The fitness center has enough weights and cardio equipment to get a decent workout, but it is by no means a regular gym such as Fitness Connection or YMCA, ETC. All in all, the hotel is fine. I'd stay here again.
I stayed at the Westin from June 8 through June 13, 2023. I transferred to this hotel after having a bad experience at the courtyard in West University Houston. The service at this hotel was amazing. The location was excellent. The front desk manager Amy was very professional and was very concerned about delivering excellent customer service. She went out of her way to help me. The only feedback that I can give on the rooms was that the windows probably needed cleaning. I am a lifetime Platinum elite with Marriot and really enjoyed the concierge lounge. The staff there was also excellent.! Would definitely stay here again the next time I’m in Houston.
Location 10/10. No more than 10-20 min from all hot spot. The hotel is literally attached to the mall. Super convenient if that interests you. Cleanliness 10/10. Smells good everywhere as well. Service 10/10 everyone we came into contact with was very accommodating. Bartender was a little aloof.
Don't stay here. The Westin Oaks nearby is better. The front desk staff couldn't be more useless. Horrible directions to Joey's. The Oaks has a map on how to return. The front desk staff in the morning directed me to the Daily Grill. I am a Lifetime Titanium member and not once told about the 24th floor. I had to find out from another guest. Think I am gonna pass on this Westin for future stays.
I had a horrible experience at the Westin Galleria. The manager, Andrew, did not honor our reservation and gave our room to someone else. He said that he had overbooked the hotel and that we had to find another place to stay. He did not apologize or offer any compensation. He was rude and aggressive and told us to stop complaining. He ruined our vacation and caused us a lot of stress and inconvenience. We had to move to a nearby hotel that was more expensive and less comfortable. He was the worst manager I have ever dealt with in a hotel. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Stay away from Andrew and his terrible management.
We have always enjoyed staying at the Westin Galleria, but this time in particular, I was very impressed with the attentiveness of the valet Josh. It was on multiple occasions that I witnessed his thoughtfulness in both attention to details and service.Rooms: 5/5
Westin Galleria was very convenient to stay at for conference, shopping, and finding food. However, I expected the rooms to be much nicer. I must say they were pretty average. They were clean, but the air conditioning wasn't all that great. I had to come from under the covers several times during the night. Rooms: Rooms were pretty clean but average. Nearby activities: Plenty to do in the surrounding area. Safety: Seems to be pretty safe, but y'all, know we live in a crazy world where anything can happen at any time. Food & drinks: Plenty of food placedls to choose from.
Long post, I apologize in advance. I booked a luxury king room and got a hard, uncomfortable queen bed. The room had a broken shelf in the bathroom and one of the lamps had a dead bulb. The couch was incredibly uncomfortable too. There was a small picture in the bathroom and zero artwork except for a wall sized piece halfway covered by the bed's headboard and side tables. Good thing the walls were a lovely shade of outdated tan. In fact, the whole room is tan with a little blue to jazz it up. I'm on the 16th floor and I got a good view of the parking lot and roof of the mall. The AC struggled to keep the room cool. I had to set it at 61 to get the room to be comfortable whereas my house is at 72 for the same comfort level. The AC was also super noisy. Parking was terrible. People were driving all over because the painted arrows were almost completely faded and signs were not abundant. The website says free parking, but there's multiple parking garages on top of each other and you're not sure which is correct. It's 'Brown LL' btw. Yellow is off limits. I booked for 2 nights, but left after the one. The multiple hour drive home will be awesome since I hurt so much from that bed and those flat pillows. The room was super expensive for just the access to the mall it's one saving grace, if that's your thing. Right before I decided to leave, I went to go get coffee and came back to my room door not working. Dead battery. Think I paid enough to warrant regular replacement of batteries so that they don't lock their guests out. $883 for 2 nights, not including an additional $50 for internet. It took almost 20 mins to get security to let me in so I could pack and leave early. She was very polite thankfully. I almost decided to save $500 and stay at a Best Western closer to where I needed to be. I regret that immensely. Walkability: It's walkable to the mall and several restaurants. Otherwise, not worth the money at all.
Naturally, we were excited to stay in the Westin Galleria for the first time. Growing up in Houston many years ago, we used to be in awe of this prestigous hotel. Located in the heart of Galleria made it even more elite feeling. Returning to Houston after many years and now being able to afford staying in a $500/day hotel room was what we thought was going to be a luxury experience. Unfortunately, those dreams were shattered by the Motel 6 like experience as we entered our room. Even worse, it was an upgraded room, an "executive suite". Carpet had stains all over it, even had a large burned cigarette hole in it. The pull out beds in the sofa's were lumpy, saggy, and covered in yellow stains. The concierge service was nonnexistant. Requested a roll out bed and extra sheets and we got neither. One guest had to use a bath robe has a blanket. Roll out bed didnt arrive till the morning after. The windows were so dirty, you couldnt even enjoy the view. It was like years of water spots caked on the glass. Guest bathroom had cave like lighting. Lastly, why was there only 1 coffee packet in an Executive suite designed for up to 4 guests...Pics don't do it justice on how dingy and ill-maintained it looked for something you are paying a premium for. We cut our stay there short and found different accomodations. I recommend The Lancaster.
