WONT RETURN! The dentist, Cynthia Yu, was very sweet and proactive regarding my dental plan. I loved her she lights up the room and makes you feel at ease!!! The office seemed clean and tidy too. However, there where things I did not like and will not be coming back. I went in for my annual checkup with insurance that covered 100% of costs. Though they began working on my teeth and as your laid in the chair a lady pushes a computer screen in your face with a list of prices and bombards you. They charged me $200 out of pocket saying my insurance doesn’t cover the cleaning. My insurance covers 100% of everything. The dentist did not even try to bill my insurance they did not even reach out at all! So I’m out of pocket $200 for what they should have billed my insurance and they only offered me a credit for my next appointment but no refund. The credit is useless bc I’m not coming back. My fiancé went in the next day and they tried doing the same thing to him. The billing seems unorganized and it’s weird how they shove a screen in your face and I’ve never had a dentist bring a card reader back to the room and make me swipe while I’m laid back being. I felt taken advantage of payment wise and for that I won’t be returning. Also, the lady cleaning my teeth with the water and electric brush thing kept hurting my lips with the spinning brush but she didn’t say anything she came in quiet and started working and then just left the room. Was weird and stood out to me, coming from The Woodlands Family Dental where everyone was happy to see you, this place made me feel like a bother. Anyway. Loved Dr.Yu and the blonde women who did my X-rays was so sweet. BUT you will be overcharged here and they make an assumption that your insurance won’t cover something without checking first!!! Also, I began getting spam in my work email as soon as I gave my email to this dentist. Went years without spam and then made a profile for this place and now I get spammed.

Went in on the 4/11/23  Supper Expensive. Here are some numbers with insurance and out of pocket costs. Deep Cleaning average cost is $150-300 nationally. Here insurance paid $1,432 and I paid $515 total charges $1,947 for only deep cleaning. Another procedure I had was 4 very small tooth cavities quick simple fix insurance paid $1,828 and I paid $728. For a total out of pocket cost of $1,243.  My wife got charge $895 out of pocket and insurance paid $1,812. Same procedure but she paid more out of pocket.  She also needed one tooth implant that we didn’t get and will go somewhere else. The price for this was like so, insurance will ended paying $9,119 and for out of pocket would have cost her $7,823. For one tooth. National average for this is from $1,000-$5,000 depending on the complexity of the surgery needed. For my wife it was a normal procedure.  I’m putting this info out there so you can make a better decision.  Pass the info to others so that they don’t get to make the mistake we made by coming here. The workmanship was not good at all. I now need to go to a different dentist for the rest of the process.  Hope this was useful.

I originally made an appointment with the sister location which had booked my appointment for this location. I informed rep I had wisdom teeth that was in desperate need to be removed my appointment was booked a for a couple weeks out. I randomly called after about two weeks of waiting to see about any open availability due to the amount of pain I had been experiencing…luckily I was able to get a appt the next day. They brought me in to take X-rays even sent me pricing for the services and even provided me with days the specialist would be there I was so excited to finally get a step closer to getting these bad boys removed…I call a few days ahead to confirm my appointment coming up and guess what no appt was ever created lol I do not recommend

The dentist is great! But the people that are helping him there need to do better. Work on how you treat your clients. No need to be rolling your eyes at patients simply because they don’t understand certain things.

The front office was understanding and helped me through my issues. Courtney was the one who helped me. Dr. Yu was not only great with me and my needs but of her fellow associates.  Chelsea. Who did my deep cleaning was the most gentle with my teeth I didn’t have any pain through out the deep clean. I’ve been to three other dentist and this is the one for me I highly recommend

The staff is so friendly and efficient. Every appointment I am greeted by name and educated on every step and options to decide what is best for me. Thank you Modern Smiles for making my visits as stress free as possible normally I'm super nervous. If you are looking for a good dentist I highly recommend modern Smiles! Dr. Yu and Dr. Khalid are both so awesome! And Rachel is the sweetest!

Great service and facility, especially the assistant and hygenist I worked with. Some messed up prices though - I shared the invoice and X-rays with another dentist and they found the fees to be ridiculous.

This place is a crook. They are all about money. They'll milk your insurance as far as they can go. Substandard dental work. Even basic deep cleaning was a total disaster. Root canal was botched! I can still feel pain in the tooth. Went back to get it checked and they said they will need to charge me for the appointment as they cannot charge my insurance anymore. Suggested I use a mouth guard as it is my grinding that is causing the tooth ache. Even if that's the case, root canal makes the tooth not feel anything. How can grinding affect it? Plus I don't grind my teeth. They charged me $600 on top of thousands that was already paid for the root canal after insurance paid. Never going back. I will have to go to another dentist to get the root canal fixed. They used to be good pre covid. They are just trying to scam people now.

Even though I was not excited about going in for a root canal the staff made me feel so welcome and comfortable. My doctor was very good and explained everything I needed to know. Thank you for being so good at what you do!

Stay away from Cynthia Yu.  Not a family dentistry.  Confirmed by others.  Money grabbing, scare tactics.  Force you to be on cleaning plans that cost hundreds out of pocket after insurance.  I'm 39 and all my past dentists loved my teeth.  I went to her and I'm scared into needed special expensive cleaning, mouth guards, Lazer treatment, irrigation, tact on optional meds, a $350 mouth guard but I don't grind my teeth, and crazy more expensive crown than other crowns.  Scare you with other options.  At least this is how I felt.
