Rather pricy for a breakfast place, but everything was freshly made in house from scratch, and was delicious, so was worth it. I make my own Hollandaise at home from scratch, and you could tell the same at this place. My husband had the corned beef hash, and you could tell the difference from their freshly made one to the gross in the can style most restaurants use. I would definitely recommend this place, provided you have no issue paying $20+ a plate for breakfast.
I have been going to this place since I was a small kid and I continue to return time and time again despite now residing in Texas. The atmosphere is calm and quirky. I order the eggs Benedict and it's always a hit... I do wish the ham was a thinner slice. We also tried the special which was ribeye steak & eggs which wasn't as great as we would've liked for the price. Speaking of pricing, it has definitely gotten more and more expensive with each visit. I think some items were definitely overpriced but again, I'll keep coming here purely for the kind people, the good food, and the nostalgia. I love to see a Carpinteria staple still standing strong. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options! Dietary restrictions: Multiple gluten free options
Great local restaurant with a super cute diner vibe! You must and I mean MUST try their famous corned beef hash!! They also cater to the gluten free crowd with awesome French toast, English muffins which are ah-mazing and bread. Oh and ask about the gluten free muffin of the day…today it was pumpkin cream cheese and it was SO DELICIOUS!
Awesome and so yummy . Beautiful location orders the turkey club with seasoned fries and house salsa . Delicious and you have plenty a couple could share the meal large portions .Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: Yes
Delightful patio seating. Food was great, we had the corned beef hash and chicken fried steak Benedict. Both were delicious! We truly enjoyed our conversation with the owner Ricky! Staff was extremely friendly.
The food was gross and overpriced for what we got. Onion rings tasted like water. The pancakes were rubbery like Bisquick. Paid an extra $7 for a handful of blueberries thrown on top and cold syrup. Forgot the bacon. No butter, napkins, or utensils. I went home and took a covid test to make sure I hadn’t lost my sense of taste I didn’t, the food was just that bland.
Breakfast was very good, our waitress was great! Pretty patio to enjoy some flowers with your meal.
Initial thoughts upon visiting: Good menu selection, good beer selection, very friendly staff. Prices aren't bad for Carpinteria. Some things seem a little overpriced, while other items are actually cheap. I ordered shrimp and grits. Dare I say it? Thiers is better than the place in Santa Barbara that specializes in Cajun brunch. Hard to believe, but it's true! Tasty shrimp, good quality homemade grits, spinach. Only thing missing is the andouille. My companion had a breakfast burrito with corned beef. It was very large and deemed "Delicious." We took home one of their large, pricy cinnamon rolls because they were supposed to be great. They aren't. Meh. Overall: We like it. Thumbs up.
Came here for breakfast yesterday and had great service. The host was friendly and helpful. The waitress gave us wonderful customer service. The ladies that brought us coffee were also serving coffee with a smile. Quick service, great food, pleasant ambience. My friends and I were so happy with the food and service we came back again for breakfast today. Friends highly recommended this place and I can see why.
Service was very good. Nice outdoor seating with umbrellas. In addition to the patio, they had a tent in the parking area post Covid. "Workers Benedict" was a bit disappointing. Gravy was a bit bland though they give you lots of sauces to try and let you add more flavor. Eggs on the Benedict were inconsistent with one nice and running and the other over cooked. "Croissant breakfast" sandwich was good. Ham was a nice cut with lots of flavor. "Hash browns" were good with a nice fry on the outside and well cooked inside maybe too mushy for some. "House fries potatoes" were disappointing. Missing a lot of flavor you would expect from a cafe home fry and inconsistent cook on the potatoes. Potatoes were either falling apart or under cooked. We wanted to like this place, and it is ok. The service and ambience was nice. However, the food didn't live up to the reviews we read and we wouldn't recommend in the end.
