Amazing proformance by the Have Not's! The staff and actors are amazing at improv! It's wonderful to see a show that doesn't break the bank but delivers great laughs! Thank you Theater 99!
By way of disclosure, I am a senior citizen. We arrived early and they let us into the theater fairly early as well. The terrible choice of Hip Hop and other unknown genre music was at a level so high the speakers were distorting. I tracked down the manager to ask him to lower it so we could talk, and he said he could not make it any lower. I do know when smoke is being blown up my posterior. The mostly young crowd seem to enjoy the first half of the show immensely. The four people in our party did not crack a smile let alone a laugh. We thought they were awful. The second act was better, but did not make up for the lack of talent in the first half of the show. Your mileage may vary. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, parking was well nigh impossible.
We had lots of fun! Very funny! Bar was cash only... we do not carry cash anymore so we missed out. I thought the performance was a bit short, but still glad we went!
Visiting Charleston from Chicago. Attended the Laugh for a Lincoln show on Thursdays. Considering the tickets were only 5$ per person, this is a must to do thing in Charleston imo. Out of the three groups, two were really funny. We had a great time. Took us some time to find parking, but we finally found some spots on Kings St. They serve drinks and snacks as well, but it is cash-only.
Has the feel of the ole school house theater. Our weds night Bible study group all got together and saw the improv crew. This bunch was alright. Apparently the Friday gang is more funny. Those orange seats pictured here ...old but just comfortable enough as they somewhat slide back to stretch out.
Theatre 99 is a hidden gem in Charleston! There are three improv performances and seriously the funniest show my husband and I have seen in a long time! If you're in need for a good laugh you gotta check this place out!
There’s not too many night events you can do in Charleston- so Theatre 99 offers Improv nights and it was super fun and extremely funny to get to watch comedies act on the spot. Really a fun activity if you’re in the area!!
A true gem in Charleston! Always a delightful evening of laughs and creativity from a team of performers who love what they do AND who delight in giving the audience a memorable night out!
Very fun! The comedy improve show was fun and hilarious!
