The Thinkery is a good learning experience for children of all ages. It is typically crowded, but never overly so. There are many large rooms with several interactions; each room with its own theme. Our kids were entertained for over three hours and were eager to return for more fun. The price of admission is a bit high, otherwise there are not many negatives to share about The Thinkery.
The Thinkery is a great place to bring kids. It provides interactive learning exhibits on a wide range of activities. I.e., magnetics, electricity, air, water, art, illumination, food, and building. A great way to spend a few hours of family time. The location is also ideal. A playground is across the street and an ice cream shop Lick right around the corner!
Be prepared to get messy, be prepared to get wet! We loved the Thinkery! It is stimulation overload and there is a lot going on. I wouldn’t be as comfortable taking my 2 kids on my own. But with my husband there we could each follow one around and then move on as needed. There is a painting wall and a water room. There are smocks provided but they can only help so much. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, and bring back up clothes to change into if you are concerned about that. If you have creative, hands on exploring, fun loving kids, you’ll love the Thinkery. A few of our favorites are the shadow wall, the magnetic ball run wall, the things in motion and the water rooms. I’m not sure about cost because someone gifted us a membership for one year.
It was fun filled experience for our kids, there's plenty of activities to choose from. An apron and kids clogs are provided at the water area. However, kids can still get wet if they choose to play around. Extra necessities like clothes and socks will surely give them extra comfort afterwards.
It was so much fun! The kids loved it! It’s great for all ages! I didn’t get a lot of pictures of the older aged things there because my husband took the oldest and I took the youngest.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$16–20
Took the kids here one afternoon during spring break. It was very crowded, but we didn't have to wait long for any of the activities. I like that masks are still required, given the amount of small children running around. My son, 7, seemed a little bored after a few minutes with some of the activities, but my daughter, 5, could have spent hours here. We stayed about 90-120 minutes total. Worth the cost of admission and we'd go again next time we're in town
We always have fun at this place with our kiddos. Such a fun activity and a cool location. There is something for every sensory. The light exhibit is my personal favorite. Also, kind and friendly staff!
Love this place. I visit here every week with my son. They have annual pass, its free for kids under the age of 2, but the adults need to have a pass. Thinkery has a good number of activities. Glad to have found this place. Nice location, plenty of eateries around as well. Across the street from Mueller’s park. Lick Ice cream and Riley’s Irish Pub.
Memorable memories for my 7 year old. She was gleeful at every turn. Interactive and educational, this place did not disappoint. Her favorite part, besides the most amazing playground, was probably the interactive farm to market to table area on the second floor. For those disappointed with the mask mandate of the museum, the information was readily available on their website, so be prepared to wear a mask. If you don't want to, wait until they don't require them anymore. The experience of this museum is amazing.
Lovely STEAM based museum for kids. It's a little small but still fun. Some sections are better suited for toddlers and there are other sections for older age groups. If the kid is over 10, there is very little to engage them. The backyard was a lot of fun for kids of all ages. The staff is extremely friendly and nice.
