Thomaston Hardware Co. was founded in 1950 by original owner, Charles Kersey. In 1981 it was purchased by Melvin Fallin, who originally worked for Mr. Kersey in high school. The store has been in its current location since 1985 and is now ran by Melvin's son, Philip Fallin.
