We are a full service veterinary hospital located in the Montclair District of Oakland, California. Thornhill Pet Hospital has served east bay communities since 1966. Dr. Carlos M. Yang and his staff welcome you.

Thornhill Pet Hospital is your local veterinary hospital in Oakland. As a one doctor practice, we are able to provide personalized service while offering access to modern treatment options for the patients under our care.

Dr. Yang and his Thornhill Pet Hospital team strive to provide exceptional services in all areas of pet health and wellness in the Oakland area. We provide ongoing pet wellness care for puppies and kittens all the way up to senior pets, state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and testing through our in-house laboratory, high-quality pet dental care, surgical services, access to local surgical specialists, and more.

We are also proud to offer veterinary care to pocket pets and rabbits in Oakland as well!

Dr. Yang is the best vet I have had the fortune of taking my pets to. I have a very anxious...sometimes reactive dog and Dr. Yang takes the best care of him. He is informative, honest, kind, and cares. He is the sort of vet that is there because he loves animals and wants to help them. He is not in it for the money and doesn't try and push stuff that is not helpful. Highly recommend!
I trust the expertise and care of Dr. Yang, Alicia and team for my once-feral cat, Falcor. I appreciate their patience with my questions and accommodating special requests like applying Bravecto during a routine appointment so I don't have to!. Their service is vital to our family.
Thornhill Pet Hospital came by recommendation over 9 years ago and this stands the test of time. We have two pups that have been receiving care with Dr. Yang and his wonderful team for nearly 10 years. Dr. Yang is knowledgeable, gentle and just has a way with animals. He works long hours and has called us to give an update on our recovering pups well past business hours. He explains options and listens to every concern. I highly recommend Thornhill, and two solid tail wags from Lima Bean and Sprout!
We have 6 dogs, all rescues. Dr. Yang has been a rock in our lives for almost 10 years!! from puppy shots, surgeries to heart meds for our oldest guy and everything else in-between. I would not trust another vet but Dr. Yang. His team- Alicia, Kristina & Oscar always accommodates us aka "the zoo" sometimes all 6 at a time!! They are like family to us!! Your pets could not be in better hands!!

Dr. Yang is the most reliable and compassionate vet I could have ever asked for! He has always been very clear when describing my 13 year old’s conditions. I feel like he prepares me, so that I can better understand what my dog is going through. Dr. Yang is such a great ally to have if you truly care about your pet! If you're looking for an honest, kind, and knowledgeable vet, look no further than Dr. Yang! He is a true professional who genuinely cares about the animals he treats. My two 100+ lb dogs are new to Thornhill after their 8-year vet in San Ramon relocated yes, I would commute to San Ramon from Oakland as I refused to continue seeing Montclair Vet...read RIP off. I wish I would've known about Thornhill & Dr. Yang sooner as I've had the best vet experience with them in six months than I have in the last 8 years with other vets. Highly recommend!
There is no better veterinarian in the bay area than Dr. Carlos Yang. He is a caring, kind, intelligent and excellent doctor. I highly recommend Thornhill Pet Hospital.
