The Best place to gas up. The guys at the pumps are friendly and polite. They make you feel welcome and I always leave with a smile on my face! Thank you for the exceptional service.

One thing that people from outside Northwestern Ontario don't understand is that many residents from inside an urban area will drive an extra distance to purchase fuel -- whether it be for their automobile, lawn mower, snow machine, etc. -- from a nearby First Nation reservation to often save around 20 cents per litre even with these savings fuel is still more expensive than what the southern portion of the province will pay. Prices will vary station to station, as does the friendliness of staff. The one station I have found which generally has one of the best fuel prices and most helpful staff is the THP Variety & Gas Bar on City Road. I have always had a pleasant experience when purchasing my gas here. My brother-in-law who is in the construction industry purchases about $1000 of fuel here a week. Smokers also seem to get a good price here because when I'm lining up to pay they're selling TONS of smokes. In fact I see about half the people coming in to buy smokes and not gas. The one secret I can tell you which you may not know is those butter tarts at the front counter where you go to pay for your purchase -- they are the ABSOLUTE BEST BAR NONE !!!! And at a good price too. If you live in Thunder Bay and you haven't already, take a drive to THP Variety and Gas Bar for some fuel and butter tarts. But don't start smokin' just to get a cheap price on cigarettes.

Probably my favourite gas station to go to at FWFN. The gas guy's are always super friendly as well. They are always laughing and smiling. Definitly recommend taking the time to drive down a little further and they are always a bit cheaper than the rest!

Told the gas attendant to put $50 in my gas tank, he ended up thinking I said fill up. The manager told me that because I didn’t look at the paper the gas attendant gave me it’s my fault. Manager told me I can come back to pay a portion later making me, the customer at fault & having to pay a hefty gas bill over $100. Very horrible customer service and experience today. Will NOT be back. Manager also told me he would call the cops if I chose to not pay/make arrangement to pay. Very unprofessional “rules” they have.

Everyone is so friendly- especially those outside working the pumps. I'm always happy after chit chatting with them. It's worth driving the extra little bit to see them :

THP is the best place in TBay to get gas, especially if you’re on the south side. Other than one lady cashier that isn’t the nicest, everyone especially the pump attendants are really nice and they’re always the cheapest.

Consistently the cheapest unleaded 87 gas petrol in Thunder Bay. Worth the short drive, especially when prices in the inner city can be up to around $0.30/L more. Has a loyalty program of sorts. Just retain and hand in 50 payment slips for $5 off.
