Waited in line for an eternity! EXTREMELY understaffed, slow, and ended up taking an entire morning of our vacation just to get the car. And the line at the desk is just PART of the wait... It's worth it to spend a little extra, and go with someone capable of providing timely, professional service so you can enjoy Vegas.
Very scary and dangerous experience. They put me in a 2022 Mustang and 2 hours later all 4 tires needed to be replaced ! I didn't check the tires when i drive off, got a flat 2 hours later. Hobbled to a tire shop and they looked all 4 tires where bald and had the steel cord showing. After a long fight over the telephone thrifty paid for 4 new tires. The tires had never been rotated.
Terribly understaffed and slow. Stood in line for 2 hours and then they sent us out in a death trap. Nice newer SUV with corded tires - bald is an understatement, look at the pictures. Tires like this are illegal to drive on. I finally got them to cover the repair, but they first tried to refuse because, "I didn't report the problem within the first hour". Well the inside of the tires are generally not where you look after waiting 2 hours to rent the thing in the first place. Always check the tires, take a picture of the VIN, mileage, and whole vehicle and make sure it matches the paperwork because they WILL try to screw you over if anything doesn't match the paperwork, or suggest that they'd rather risk the lives of your whole family than replace a couple tires.
Worst experience ever! Arrived at Harry Reid Airport at midnight to find out they had given our car and every other car away!!! We had prepaid for our rental and there was no car available for us. We were told by the rep that we could come back out to the airport tomorrow to see if there were any cars. It was obvious she told people this on a regular basis. She couldn't have cared less that she was screwing up the start of our vacation. Thankfully, Budget was able to provide a car. We were told they get people in the same situation coming to them from Thrifty all the time so it's obvious they make a habit of this. For anyone reading this, go to Budget to book your car instead. I'd give zero stars if I could. I'm now fighting to get my money back from Thrifty.
We were told it would be a 2 hour wait until we get our car. We almost didn’t believe it until we saw the line in the parking garage. Keep in mind it was 100 degrees outside! What a shame, wish they can kind find a way to keep it more organize and efficient in the future but I won’t be renting from this place if we ever come back
Prepaid for car rental and still had to wait for hours. I was supposed to be at an important meeting and due to the long delay I missed it and was reprimanded. Asked about upgrading to a more expensive option so I could be on my quicker, and I was told I would have to go wait in a super long line again to do so. Never ever had this issue in Vegas on a Monday afternoon. Thrifty Rental Car, you need to do better. The 40 people that I waited in line with feel the same way!
1.5 hour in the que to pay and now waiting to get the car 20 people waiting. Ridiculous unprofessional company. Employee is rude because i request the car I rented instead of the one she wants go give me. My father have a disability can stand up for so long.
The entire process from start to finish was surprisingly easy! I booked my rental a few days before and prepaid for everything. My rental was the exact same price promised from Thrifty online when I got to the counter. The lines were long and packed but the service was fast and effortless , my rental was clean , smooth and had under 10,000 miles on it. The return was just as easy as the checkout. I shall return .
Arrived around 10pm for a reserved car rental pickup. Had to pickup through Dollar, since Thrifty diverts traffic to their counter after theirs closes. Waited in line, and then the attendant informed myself and about 20 others that there were no cars remaining. The direction given was to come back the next day for a car…. Instead, decided to pick up a car on the spot through Alamo/National for $10 more per day. Would not recommend this experience.
Horrible. Like so many other reviews here, I too arrived to pick up my pre-booked, pre-paid reserved car, waited in a long line and was told when I got to the front they had no more gas powered cars. They told me I could come back in the morning and try or go with another supplier. I decided to come back in the AM. Worst decision!! I arrived to an even longer line of customers who looked very unhappy. I was not going to be a fool and wait in that line again to be told the same thing, so I walked over to National, waited behind 2 people, and was quickly and painlessly provided a car. I hope everyone who has this experience shares their 1 star review. It’s honestly unacceptable. Thrifty, you are fully aware of the issue and you clearly don’t care to fix it. Shame on you. No need to respond with a generic reply saying you’ll forward this to management for review. That clearly means nothing. I hope you get shut down.
