Reserved and prepaid for a rental. Went to airport lot on time, 12:30 am, only to be told that they were out of cars. Thrifty offered no solutions. Would not drive me to nearest hotel. Refused to reimburse for added expenses. Only response was "sorry, hope you book with Thrifty on your next trip".
We booked a car to drive out to the Gorge for a concert. We showed up 30 minutes early for a 10:30 am reservation. They informed us that there were no cars. They were expecting 20 cars for the day, but there were about 25 people in line ahead of us. More came in while we were waiting. It was made pretty clear to everyone that even though we had all made reservations, no one was getting a car. The manager made it a point to come in and yell at the disgruntled customers. Props to the nice man working the front desk. He seemed calm, and he’s clearly working for a trash company. My friend got a video of the manager, who was absolutely unhinged. Please protect yourself from this place. I booked through AAA, so I didn’t realize how bad the experience would be. So we never ended up getting a rental car from this place, and there was nothing AAA could do for us.
Absolute crooks, I would give 0 stars if possible. We paid for the car in advance and I double checked when getting the car that is was paid for and they confirmed. Once we got the car we noticed the windshield wiper was broken and there was a can of coke in the car so the car was never cleaned from the previous user. Then after dropping off the car there was no one to talk to about this and we were later charged $250 for random fees, taxes, and for damages that never happened. I tried calling several times and they told me they have no record of what the damages are for but there is nothing they can do about the charges. DO NOT use this company.
Booked a car in advance, flew up to Seattle and arrived at midnight. Had to take a shuttle to the car rental area and got there around 12:45am. Place was supposed to be open until 1am, but they were closed? The Hertz station was open, but we were told that even though Thrifty is owned by Hertz, they couldn't give us our rental and we'd just have to wait until Thrifty opened again at 6am??? The Hertz attendant also suggested that Thrifty may have rented the car we'd reserved... Absolute trash company. We were in Seattle only for the weekend for a wedding, and are now basically unable to do anything we'd planned to up to the wedding. Thanks Thrifty, if I could give a 0 star review I would -_-
The car was good and of the kind we had ordered and there was no queue at all when we arrived at the counter. Giving the car back was also very easy: you just park it there and leave the key in the car. The downside of the easy process is the lack of transparency regarding cost. You drive away without any paper in you hand, later get an email in which costs are not clear and only back home I realised I had been charged an additional USD 370 for some fees and charges I hadn't been aware of. For some of it I did not understand what it was supposed to be for. I found this quite infuriating, but I got all of it refunded after a couple of emails with customer care. That's why I give four stars.
They have EARNED their current rating of 1.4 out of 5 stars. Arrived and Hertz/Thrifty had ZERO CARS. I had a confirmed, pre-paid reservation. That should be a CONTRACT. Nope. They rented my car to someone else. No reasonable explanation. They didn’t even bother to call, KNOWING THEY DIDN’T HAVE ANY CARS. They won’t issue a refund!!!! The manager, Chris, is useless. Zero empathy. Like some sort of sociopath, he kept telling a room full of panicking people to “have a nice day”. He offended no solutions. No help. No cars. National customer service number won’t pick up the phone. Hertz, are you going to pay for the hotels I can’t get to now because of your COLOSSAL FAILURE?! You’ve done an amazing job of ruining a vacation and costing me lots of money. Never again. This is no way to run a business. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Zero Stars.
Absolute insanity, this line was longer than my actual flight. 3 hours to rent a car. Kiosks weren't working, and you could tell several people's reservations were lost when they got to the counter after all that time. Never using thrifty again and dragging their name absolutely through the mud. Unacceptable as a frequent traveler, I've never seen anything so bad.
Was just here. They charged me extra hours for picking the car up after the reservation time. I made a reservation for 2:00pm and was waiting in line at 2:30pm and they added on 'extra hour.' They also charged me for returning the car 30 minutes after I said I would. It's not worth it because they will try to nickel-and-dime you for everything.
Poor customer service. Customer service person hung up on us several times. 2 hour phone holds to be hung up on. Very complicated service. These people genuinely are the worst facility I think I’ve ever had to deal with. So much more, not enough characters aloud on this review box. Avoid these people
Agreed. This is the worst branch. They take reservations but they have no cars. Short staffed on Saturdays, and it takes 1 hour for them to notify that there is not enough cars for everyone in line. It’s deceiving because in parking lot, you see many parked. Those are not what you get. Also, finding a counter on 6th floor is hard too.
