Thryve fitness is the first gym I have been a member of. For years I refused to go to a gym because of all the stigmas associated with them, but Thryve is unlike any other club. The staff consistently go out of their way to make you feel welcome, to support your goals, and to make you feel at home. The equipment is phenomenal and the selection is vast. I have worked out at other gyms with some friends and I can say this gym is one of a kind!
I really love this gym. It's never too crowded and the staff members are very friendly. I started going there as a non-member at first because you can get a class pass for High Fitness. They never pressured me to join. I just got the occasional email. I actually ended up joining on my own so that I could do different workouts and try other classes. They really give off a family vibe and treat you well. Shout out to Shadoe, Malynn and Ashley!! They are the best!
The star is for their friendliness. The lack of the 4 other stars are for the following: Personal Training, Classes, Daycare, and Lack of Accountability. 1. My wife and I tried personal training and worked with 2 different individuals, both were Super cool, but when you pay for PT maybe we had a bad expectation of wanting someone who would push you and focus on hitting goals and improvement. It was more like having a buddy who would just walk you through a random workout or even just ask what you wanted to do when you showed up I guess we wanted a trainer not a workout buddy. 2. Then my wife loves classes but their times just didn't work with our schedule since there weren't a ton of options so we decided to cancel and my wife decided to go back to VASA because of their larger variety of classes that she could attending throughout the week. 3. We took our kids to the day care which was a big draw for us in the 1st place. That was a mistake, the room is open to above with the rest of the gym so my children got to listen to rap and other music blaring that I wouldn't deem appropriate for children so we almost felt guilty bringing them and subjecting them to that for an hour straight, so we never used the service again. 4. When I cancelled my membership they charged me for an additional month which I get for requiring 30 days but then I had another charge the month after that so I reached out to them and they told me since I didn't email a copy of the form I signed to their customer service email so it never went through. BUT here is the problem, when I cancelled a manager was present for the 1st part and said we were all good and then took off, then a girl had us fill out the form and she specifically told us that we could take a picture for our record just in case... well since we were told to email it but it was in the fine print they refused to refund the amount even though from my one sided opinion the error lies with us being verbally misinformed by a Thryve employee and instead of them taking accountability for that here we are with a sour taste in our mouths... Well, we gave them a shot... maybe this will save you the effort of doing the same or maybe it will help you set a realistic expectation. To top it off, the agreement I signed with them had my work paying for the last month employer had a marketing agreement so they double dipped on top of refusing to provide my refund...
Was a loyal customer at the sandy gym until it closed. I tried to cancel my contract but was bullied into staying in a contract that was no longer valid. Charges stopped coming through so I figured they finally gave in and cancelled my membership but NOPE! Just got a call, 4 months later, from a collections agency. Well done Thryve! You sure know how to run a smooth business. It's not the clients fault that you had to close your doors. You have to eat the cost of running a poor business model instead of trying to place your debts onto your customers. Way to deal with your own problems cordially... It's pretty clear from previous reviews that you screwed over a lot of people and can't even take the time to take responsibility in the process.
I had a great experience at first. I was diagnosed with a liver disease and had to cancel my membership. I hadn't even been signed up for a week. Canceling is a complete nightmare. They explained you have to have full disability to cancel but once you want them to show you where anything states you all of a sudden cant get a hold of anyone. Please do not sign up if your sick. You will never be able to get out of it. I now have to pay for a year of gym that ill never be able to use.
I have been a member of Thryve for 2 years and love it! I have 2 kids that I take to the afternoon daycare 4:00-8:00 PM. It has been the same daycare employee for well over a year and I highly trust her. My only complaint with the childcare is that it does not have a roof and often the music my children are hearing I don't approve of. When I have asked them to change the music for that reason they immediately change it. I love the staff at Thryve and that it is probably the cleanest gym I have been a member of.
The Sandy location closed and the West Jordan is too far away. So, I wanted to cancel my membership. But after a 6+ email back and forth, they refused to cancel my account. So, now I'm stuck paying for the last three months of a membership I don't use. I also had a $15 class pass that was supposed to be month to month. But they're still charging me for that as well. I called to get that removed from my account and they told me I had to come down to the gym to talk about it I suppose that was a tactic to deter people from bothering to get their account issues resolved. But after going all the way down to the West Jordan location, they refused to even cancel that. The person I talked to said "It's just a couple more months."
The experience has been great! I've met new people who have great goals which inspired me to keep my goals strong. The trainers there are great to work with. They are there to help and support you with anything when needed. I definitely recommend thryve fitness to anybody who wants to workout.
The staff is awesome. I've been training with Justin and Shadoe and they know how to get the best out of ya when ya don't feel like giving your best. The equipment is nice and its got all varieties from free weights to machines and trx bands if ya wanted to do more body weight exercises. I would recommend this gym to anyone wanting to get into a gym
I made the switch from Vasa to Thryve and I'm glad I did. Thryve is more one on one and they help you achieve your goals. Their equipment and gym is always clean and isn't crowded so you don't have to wait in a line to use a machine. Overall great gym!
