Great option for accommodations near Lake Powell. The rooms are spacious. The hotel is clean and check-in is simple. They explain nearby services in this remote area, and are clear about the options available at their location. We would definitely stay here again.Rooms: 4/5
Out in Bullfrog, UT there is not much physically out there besides the actual marina and the offshore dinner just up the street at the Sinclair. With this in mind Ticaboo Lodge was a great place to stay! They have friendly staff which were all super helpful. They even offer a pool to cool off during the hottest part of the day. We were in the area for work so we did not use their rental service but this seemed to be quite convenient and the coffee was always available as stated upon arrival. I’d gladly stay here again and give it a 5/5 for the area. Rooms: The beds were super comfy and I slept great!
We stay here when boating Lake Powell. The price is better than Defiance House and the staff is nice. The rooms are a bit run down but nice for what we need them for:. There is plenty of parking and they take care of you, especially if you are a returning customer! Nearby activities: We usually boat Lake Powell but have also stayed there and went 4 wheeling. There are some really great trails around that area.
Had a great time for our 2 night stay and would like to come back next time. We went in July which we found out was the off season so restaurant had limited hours. It might be helpful to put something on the website about that. We would have brought groceries if we had known. There is a grill on the property and microwave and refrigerator in the room. Rooms were very nice, as were the staff and all the guests we met. Would definitely stay there again.
Really like the place. It’s 11 miles from the Marina but I think that’s a good thing. Rooms are nice. Only complaint is that there is no one available for help between 7 pm and 10 the next morning. There was a storm that came through and a family showed up because they were camping and their camp blew away. They were four miles from home and there is no one there to give them a room. There isn’t a phone number, there isn’t anything. After 7, you’re out of luck. There should be a number or something for emergencies. If someone is partying right next to you all night, or something happens to your room, again, you’re out of luck.
We tried a little bit of everything from Ticaboo lodge. We did their ski boat one day, pontoon boat the next this was our favorite and two side by sides the third day. It was perfect. Every day was so much fun. Definitely the nicest boats and side by sides we have ever driven. it was so nice to have everything right there that we didn’t have to haul from our house. They were amazing rentals.Brent and mike were so kind knowledgeable on explaining everything to us. Especially it being our First time loading and unloading boats. They are very professional yet down to earth people. the house was perfect for our family of 9, Mostly teenagers. Very clean and a great open kitchen and living room. I think this is going to be an every year tradition for our family. Amy and Captain Ray Golden introduced us to this amazing place. And we are so grateful they did. Thanks Rooms: Great master bedroom suite. And two queen size bedrooms, and one room with two bunkbeds. Nearby activities: We tried a little bit of everything from Ticaboo lodge. Boating at Lake Powell - so much better than the other marinas at lake powell. We are fan of less people. It is remote. we brought all our food and there are grills to eat at. Awesome hiking trails we want to come back and hike some more trails down the burr trail. So many atv trails. We took our kayaks on the pontoon and had a blast exploring canyons at lake powell. We also had great fishing off the pontoon. We want to come explore more. Walkability: Really close to walking trails and ATV trails. Food & drinks: We stayed in the north yard house. And it was awesome for a family of nine people. Really close to the gas station. And grill.
Considering the remote location of this property, it was a decent place. The friendly staff did as much as they were able, however there were problems that could not be overcome. There is no night desk clerk and no vending area other than the ice machine which required a quarter. If you don't have a quarter when the desk is closed, you get no ice. If you should forget your key in the room when the desk is closed, possibly you sleep in you car that night. The gift shop doubles as a kind of limited self-service snack bar which is also closed when the desk closes. The only choice for a prepared meal is 2.5 miles down the road at a convenience store which has a grill with a limited menu and operating hours. There is no coffee maker in the room and unfortunately at the time we tried the lobby coffee machine it was out of coffee. The rooms and property in general were clean and decently maintained. The room was well appointed with plenty of towels and toiletries, but maid service is only by request and you are responsible for leaving your trash outside the door for pickup.
My family wants to give a huge thanks to the staff at Ticaboo Lodge, we stayed with you over Labor Day weekend and had an unfortunate breakdown with our boat on the lake that forced us to stay overnight on the water with our kids and no cell phone service. We knew our families at home would be worried sick about us not checking in as we had planned. You staff went WELL above and beyond in working with our families at home with providing them updates, checking our room and getting them in contact with the right authorities where they were able to confirm with the NPS that we were had made contact with the Rangers but were stranded and safe. When we finally made it back off the lake a half day past our checkout time, you offered us to stay in our room and get some rest and a shower or to enjoy the pool as long as we needed! If that is not above and beyond customer service then I don't know what is!! Thank you for going above and beyond and we cant wait to come back down this fall and stay with you again for the UTV rally!
We attended the Rally in Bullfrog Valley last Fall. Ticaboo Resort was friendly and accommodating. As it was off-season, the resort provided a fabulous, on-site option for meals – including sack lunches for the rides. Everything we needed was fully handicapped-accessible. We met the guides when we checked in for the rally and signed up for our rides. They answered our questions and promised three great days of riding. When it turned out that one of the rides we had requested had to be canceled, the guides notified us promptly through the resort and helped us reschedule. Bullfrog Valley boasts some amazing scenery. Although the low level of Lake Powell made it more of a challenge to see blue amidst the red rock, the red rock was beautiful to see and a lot of fun to climb over in an ATV. Bullfrog Valley also boasts interesting geology – and we had the good fortune of having a paleontologist with us on two of our rides to describe the age of the rocks around us as well as the dinosaurs that roamed the area a couple of million years ago. The local guides were also very knowledgeable of the areas we visited. If you haven’t had a chance to stay at Ticaboo Resort and take your off-road vehicle to the Bullfrog Valley, well, what are you waiting for?
Stayed at the Vista house. It was clean and ready. Some wear is showing for the age of the home. The west deck is unshaded so use is after sundown. AC worked well and there was always hot water even with five adults bathing in succession. We would certainly go again.Rooms: 4/5
