Dr. Timothy Ghattas is a sports fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in all sports injuries and also general orthopedics.
Timothy Ghattas, M.D. provides orthopaedic care to patients in our Stockbridge location. His practice includes general orthopaedics with specialty training in sports medicine. In addition to knee and shoulder arthroscopy, Dr. Ghattas has a special interest in ankle arthroscopy, ankle sports injuries and total shoulder arthroplasty.
Dr. Ghattas is an expert in the field in ACL surgery, shoulder dislocations and instability and rotator cuff tears.
Dr. Ghattas grew up in Brenham, Texas, a small town that’s known for being the home of Blue Bell Ice Cream. Dr. Ghattas graduated from Texas A&M in College Station, Texas, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. Dr. Ghattas completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Kansas in Wichita, KS. He then completed an Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He has served as an assistant team physician for the Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Dr. Ghattas was also the physician for the 2013 Final Four here in Atlanta.
