The cuisine is wonderfully prepared here. I had a delightful chicken avocado salad which I found to be a flavorful balance of fresh vegetables with well thought out seasoning revealing itself carefully within the chicken, all tied together nicely with bright occasions of avocado. Nothing would be better than to enjoy some of their sweet deserts with a little cup of espresso to compliment their modest, but sophisticated menu. I'll be looking for that espresso to be available on my next visit. The Architecture is a refreshing repose from the typical roadside vernacular. There is an open and cleanly designed modernity engaged with a hill country sense of presentation. They have a little covered outdoor space that has the potential to be something wonderful with a sense of it being a hidden gem if only a playful privacy screen were put up at the restroom entrances. Sacrificing a bit of space to do so would be a wise investment. Also, switching the hinges of the patio door to the other side would be nice so that I don't scrape my elbow on the wall the next time I visit. In all, I would gladly encourage you to stop by and enjoy the flavors that they offer and rest a bit in their thoughtful space.
This is a gem of restaurant. This is the first time we had been to New Ulm and went to Tin Lizzie's Cafe and Desserts restaurant on the recommendation of friends. The family owned establishment has been opened over 2 years and is gaining a wide base of regulars. We ordered three different sandwiches every one was very very delicious. We also ordered three desserts my favorite was the Bread Pudding The Chef Greg, prepares everything from scratch from fresh ingredients. He is a trained Pastry Chef with most experience gained in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, so believe me the desserts are awesome. I have to believe based on what we ordered, everything on the menu is delicious. They are open 6 days a week and Sunday Brunch once a month. You owe yourself the experience of having great food in a wonderful environment.
Some friends and I just happened upon Tin Lizzie’s while staying at a local farmhouse this weekend and what a pleasant surprise it was! From the “Crazy Cajun CBT” special to the Chicken Salad croissant, every single one of us swooned over our selection. Homemade jalapeño cheese bread, vinaigrettes, and fresh ingredients are what sets this place apart. We got to meet Lizzie herself as well as her pastry chef husband, and we were delighted by both the friendly service and amazing food. Dessert was definitely worth the extra calories!!! We sampled a selection of the creamiest Creme Brûlée, decadent chocolate brownies, delicious Carrot Cake, and luscious bread pudding made from their croissants and baguettes with the tastiest Creme Anglaise sauce. If you are anywhere in the area or even if you’re not, you should definitely head on over to Tin Lizzie’s and give it a try. I promise you will not be disappointed!
N.O. style roast beef Po'Boy was amazing and the meatballs are a must try!
Gumbo is authentic and Bread pudding is amazing! Best pudding I've ever had!
Brought my family here on a Saturday, and thoroughly enjoyed everything about the place. It is in a beautiful area, the service and food was great, and the dessert was perfect - blueberry bread pudding, which they serve warm with a light glaze. I believe one of the owners is a pastry chef, and from the taste of everything, probably has a history in fine dining. Yet, the atmosphere is relaxed and down to earth. I could tell that the customers are regulars, as the staff called them by name as they arrived. Very enjoyable experience, and we will certainly be back on weekends.
Have been there several times for both lunch and dinner. Menu items are always delicious and dinner specials are spectacular. Reserve the specials if you want them! The desserts are amazing, have not found my favorite yet because they are all so good. And take home some yummy breakfast goodies for the morning after.
Little pricey for the area. My wife said her salad was incredible and it was large. My gumbo was ok , but I like Jason's deli gumbo better and it is less expensive. Now the bread pudding was wonderful and one if the best I have tasted. The building is cute and the owner is friendly.
Stumbled upon Lizzie's accidentally but was very impressed. Sandwiches were excellent and the desserts amazing! Try the bread pudding if you ever find yourself near by. Great service as well. Wish they were closer to home.
Very good sandwiches. Problem: close at 7:00. Cakes/pies great. Service, quick. Also, their gumbo is good, as well as the soups. Some things not available at all times seasonal which tells you everything will be fresh.
