I had the best time at Tomboy. Holly my server was so friendly and attentive, making sure I had everything I needed. My drinks were a true delight!! David whipped up some tasty drinks, amazing bartender! I highly recommend checking out this place for the fantastic service and delicious drinks! The food was great and the place was so clean. Nice romantic atmosphere as well! Cheers
As my husband and I ventured through the charming village, we found ourselves relying on Google Maps for the ultimate Tomboy Tavern quest. Little did we know, the tavern was merely a stone's throw away from our hotel, right under our noses! Excitedly, we placed our order for Tomboy Chicken Wings, accompanied by a side of French fries, a whiskey on ice, and a Campari. Alas, the bartender couldn't seem to locate the Campari, but to our delight, we were treated to two Makers Mark on Ice instead. The moment of truth arrived as the platter of chicken wings graced our table. These wings were no joke—crispy, sizeable, and coated in a Mild by with a Kick Hot Sauce. They packed a punch that set our taste buds ablaze, but fear not, a generous bowl of ranch was there to rescue us from the delightful heat. Of course, a plate of wings wouldn't be complete without a trusty sidekick. Enter the fries! These golden sticks were a sight to behold, dusted with salt and a tantalizing smoked spicy paprika. Every bite brought a fusion of flavors that danced on our tongues. As we savored the wings and fries, we couldn't help but appreciate the vibrant ambiance surrounding us. Tomboy Tavern effortlessly blended elements of the Wild West with the pulsating energy of a dance club. It was as if cowboys and cowgirls had traded their boots for dancing shoes under the neon lights. It was an atmosphere that encouraged us to let loose and enjoy our scrumptious meal, wings in hand and whiskey on ice. Ah, and how could we forget the sweet ending? My husband succumbed to the temptation and ordered a scoop of velvety vanilla ice cream, completing our culinary adventure at Tomboy Tavern. So, whether you're in search of fiery wings, unexpected twists in your drink selection, or an atmosphere that fuses the spirit of the Wild West with the excitement of a dance floor, Tomboy Tavern in Mountain Village is the place to be. Just remember, next time, trust your instincts and leave Google Maps behind. After all, getting lost in the pursuit of deliciousness is all part of the charm!
Stopped by on the last day of our mountain trip. It was absolutely perfect! Fantastic music playing, the bratwurst was the best I've ever had, and the staff was brilliant. Derek Willey was our waiter, you MUST ask for him, he was attentive, incredibly personable, and made sure our glasses were never empty! 10/10 will gladly come again!Food: 5/5
Stopped in a few weeks ago for lunch and the food was fantastic. It wasn't very busy at all, maybe about ten people seated, including us, and one at the bar. What wasn't good was they had 70's and 80's live country music videos Hank Williams style playing on the TV at a volume that dominated any conversation we were trying to have. We asked the waiter if they could turn it down because it was so loud that I couldn't hear the conversation. He mentioned it to the bartender and he did turn it down, but turned it back up when the next song came on. We asked again if they could turn it down and they did, but slowly crept the volume up again. A third time and they finally turned it down and kept it there. The place is really neat, but that day it seemed the bartender was bored with his friend at the bar and wanted to create that concert experience.
This place is under rated. The server was great, very friendly. The have almost every bourbon you can think of which was nice. The food was outstanding. I had the elk strip loin and it was cooked to perfection. The best part about it was that it was located a walk away from our hotel. I would highly recommend checking this place out!
My lady and I intended to grab a drink or two at this local joint but due to the quality of the food excellent and the livelyness of the bar and bartender, we ate more than we could comfortably fit, drank enough to kill an elephant, and spent enough to make my wallet cry. We'll happily go back next year when we're in town again. If you see the lamb lollipops on the menu you are required to get them. The clam chowder was second to none as well.
Update.......visited Tomboy Tavern again this summer and had another great experience both for dinner and drinks. This is a great establishment to visit if your looking for a higher end apres experience within the Mountain Village area........ December 2020 This is a great pub with a nice atmosphere and solid food at the base of the mountain. Aside from the great service they also sold bottles of Telluride produced wine which were outstanding. I had a bottles of both the regular label and the reserve, both were excellent and highly recommended.
What a great evening! The lamb lollipops were cooked to perfection and the wings were wonderful! The humus was a bit spicy and the half chicken was really a quarter chicken, but when we asked about the other part of the chicken they quickly brought out more. The banana fosters cheesecake was terrific! The service Sulenny provided made the evening a terrific night! Ask for her and you won’t be disappointed! We will definitely be back and tell others!
It was a slow evening due to events happening in town, so there weren’t many people in the restaurant. Our waiter was fantastic! I really appreciate his conversation and recommendations. The food was very good! Truffle fries were addicting, the house made ranch was wonderful, and the lamb lollipops were very flavorful.
Visited in winter season. Great views of ski mountain. The shrimp tacos had great presentation and cooked well however, they are very messy. Best part was the wings, named after a cactus, very meaty and flavorful, and a must have for wing fans. Colorado burger is very delicious and I highly recommend the Truffle Fries for a side; very well seasoned.
