Tom Thumb Car Wash

The thumb, what a pleasant surprise to find this gem of a gas station/market with live entertainment. I have to go back to see Lisa. On Sundays they also host a small farmers market with plenty of great healthy options. My husband and I but quite a few things at the farmers market to try before we even went into the market and realized what a fabulous place it is, live music was happening today which is Sunday and we can’t wait to go back and have some barbecue and a beer. I WOULD RECOMMEND

First time going to The Thumb. We are in Scottsdale from California for the AZHC Arizona hockey classic. My husband's team played at the Ice Den, and in the next parking lot over is "The Thumb". Found it interesting that this "gas station/car wash" would have bbq. Finally had a chance to head over today. OMG, got their bbq brisket, it was so tender it melted in your mouth, egg over easy, cooked perfect. My son got their pulled pork sandwich. I think their brisket is slightly better than Copper Top. Both are delicious. The pictures don't do it justice since it was served as to-go our choice. Inside the place besides a lot of seating. Cute shopping area and convenience store. Ample seating for car wash customers as well. They also sell 95 octane racing fuel.

Ok, so back again. I can't say how great the customer service is at The Thumb. So much so that a woman on line commented , "Boy, this customer service is great!" Thank you, Joe and Ken! We ordered the 3 meat platter with only brisket, a side of beans and cole slaw. Delish, moist, plentiful and to top it off, we took home their famous cinnamon bun. Another thing, the staff is super friendly and very conscientious wanting to make sure everything is good. Want great bbq after a hike? The Thumb is your place. Outside patio is lovely on a perfect 70° Scottsdale day with a great playlist of songs too!

I paid $50 for the hand wash with interior clean and there were several areas inside my car that looked like it hadn't been touched or wiped such as: both front seats, the middle console, and the steering wheel. I know $50 isn't a lot of money but the quality of the cleaning left much to be desired. I'm not surprised it was mediocre given they were done in about 15 minutes! I think they rushed through it. I'm not satisfied with the service which is surprising because I've been a satisfied customer before. I guess I'll have to go home and finish the job that they should have done!

My husband & I, his family are @ The Thumb Tuesday Nov 15 for lunch. My husband & I are from KC Missouri where BBQ is KING.I had the St Louis style 5 rib plate, he had Pulled Pork. We rate this experience 5 stars for the taste & service. We spoke to the owner a couple of times, wonderful guy.If you are close around it is definetely worth the trip. My wife and I like to go to Joe's BBQ in Gilbert. I read about The Thumb in the Scottsdale airpark news and thought I'd give it a try. Interestingly, this BBQ restaurant is located in a gas station/car wash. The food was fabulous and it was great fun walking around the general store after our meal. If you're looking for some good BBQ in Scottsdale this is definitely a place you want to go.

This place is no longer good. Must be new management or something. But when I last went there, the guy at the counter asked if I wanted fatty or lean brisket. What kind of question is that?! I said lean, thinking I would get a few burnt ends. I was mistaken. I got lukewarm, stretchy, chewy, and dry slices of brisket. This used to be one of my favorite places, and if I had visitors from out of town, we would check it out. Mac and cheese is still okayused to be amazing, pulled chicken is still unique more fatty than it used to be. Not sure if I will ever return.

Staffers are always very nice and food is good. They had live music recently and I didn't care for the noise level. We couldn't hear the guy trying to take our order. Still, it's always a fun family friendly environment with a great fish tank on one of the bars.

Such a cool place. The store was set up for Christmas but not like a typical store. You need to go there for the barbecue. The food was amazing. Do yourself a favor and get the side of mac and cheese. You will not regret it.

The Thumb was an interesting little shop and diner. I had run over there to get a water and spent nearly an hour looking at the things for sale and getting a few gifts for the family. Then I ordered and enjoyed a breakfast. If you are in the area, even just for gas, I definitely recommend going inside and taking a look around.
