Lovely park trail, clean playground for the kids, and nice dog area. Playground: Clean and big playground for the kids. Restrooms: Surprising Clean. Dog-friendliness: Great Dog area spaces Picnic area: Clean and shaded area to eat. However, keep in mind bugs like to eat too, it's nature and the little bugs can be a pest.
Tompkins Park is a nice kind of suburban Park. It is I'm guessing about 5 to 10 acres. It has a playground. A very large fenced in dog park that's maybe close to an acre narrow and long. There are restrooms, exercise stations with exercise instructions, one major walking path which is about 3/10 of a mile long around the park and a few other interconnecting walking trails. There are two covered ramadas with several picnic tables one large enough for 15 or 20 people that is closer to the playground more of a family gathering site the other is good for about 7 or 8 people with two picnic tables. It's nice cuz it does not feel inner city like veterans memorial Park has an inner city feel. Tompkins Park is more laid back relaxed less crowded. And has beautiful views especially of Huachuca peak. But you can see the entire Huachuca mountain range as well. There is a kind of a shady looking basketball court surrounded by pine trees as well.
Lovely little park. Great fenced-in areas for both large and small dogs. Good amount of space. The park has a good walking path. Dog-friendliness: The fenced-in area has a covered spot to sit along with a drinking fountain. The water fountain is off for winter, but it will be great for refilling pups' water bowls. Our pup loves the large space to run around.
Great park! Beautiful. Nice walking trail. Mountain views. It has a good, full-size outdoor court. Good lighting for night games. Plenty of benches. Family atmosphere.
Nice park with features like; pavilions for events, playground, basketball court, dog parks, public restrooms, sidewalks all around with exercise stations along the pathway.
Tompkins park is great, they have a walking/jogging path with exercise equipment on the sides. They also have a basketball court, a playground and two dog parks. The dog parks are divided into Big Dogs and Small dogs I believe but they are allowed on each other's side too. We really enjoy going here with our family and friends to relax and visit. It has a good amount of grass, trees and benches so you can have a comfortable time. My only "but" is that at times is hard to find shade but overall it's a great place for any activity.
Pretty well maintained but the kids had to watch out for gopherpossibly holes in the grassy areas where they were playing. Nice running/ walking track with exercise stops. Good size fenced in dog areas. Shaded playgrounds. There's also basketball court and sand volleyball areas. Beautiful park in the snow even!
Kid zone with multiple levels of child age, walking paths for adults, and the best part of course is the field. I do enjoy some ultimate Frisbee from time to time, and if you can get some folk together for a game let me know. This is a place that has options for all people, and you can use public restrooms if you stay to long. Although I would advise extra cleaning things if you do. Like most all public buildings, kids and adults alike tend to make them less clean. ...... Recent update; they have replaced the shade fabric over the play place for the kids, and everything was rather nice.
Lots of gophers and a smaller lot than Veterans but way less crowded and way more pokéstops. Playgrounds don't have shade which is Unfortunate. Bathrooms were locked on a Saturday which is pretty but the mountain view is incredible, many friendly dogs and humans in tow. Playground: Good playground area for all ages but no shade Restrooms: Locked on a Saturday??? Dog-friendliness: No leash regulations apparently Picnic area: Nice but sparse gazebo areas
One of the nicer parks to visit in SV. Always clean, lush and green. Never super crowded on the playground. Update 22APR2022: The wind has ripped the cover off the playground.
