Tony's is a lovely little family place that's been there and been great for years. The atmosphere is fine and the food is incredible. Every soup I've had there was fantastic. I don't know how they make that great stock but it tastes delicious. No matter which of the various cuisines you choose everything there is so good.
We stopped by here today. Where looking for an hour for a place to eat. Found this lil place outa pure luck. The guy was so nice. Food was amazing. Got a chicken panini and fries. My friend got mozzarella sticks. They looked homemade and where amazing. Huge portions. Would recommend to anyone.
My wife and I spent 20 minutes looking for somewhere to eat and stumbled on Tony’s. The owner is good vibes and food was delicious. If We are ever in the area again we will drop in for another meal. I don’t know how he does it but Tony was the only one there and our food was cooked and ready in a timely fashion.
We are from Ellenville NY and seCT. Owner took our order and served us. Good potato pancakes, also very tasty vegetable wrap and fries, Owner offered Koshary - "Egypt's national dish" Wikipedia. It was a lovely vegetable dish - absolutely delicious. We will come back for more from his wide-ranging menu.
Tony's is a really special place, especially for its location. Tried them for the first time since moving here 3 years ago, and was shocked to learn that not only do they make some amazing food for a great price, but they are open year-round, seven days a week. For a town like Woodridge, which is typically dead for 3/4ths of the year until Summer, that's pretty astounding. And that's not even getting into the fact that it's mostly a one-man production. Tony is not only the owner, but the cook and, when needed, the waiter as well. From what I understand they're low on staff and currently hiring. They do take-out and dine-in, with two beautiful and spacious dining rooms, and I believe outdoor seating as well. No delivery, but chances are you only live a few minutes away anyway. I ordered a BBQ burger platter, came with a side of fries, slaw and a pickle, all for about $13. For reference, you'd be lucky to get a decent sandwich all on its own for anything less than $18 at other restaraunts in Woodridge, and they typically are only open during the Summer. The burger was cooked perfectly and flavorful. The fries were fresh and thickly cut with minimal saltiness. Some people may not like that, but I actually prefer it that way. Also had a very unique cheesecake which I recommend.
I can't believe that this guy remembered me, I was in here once last summer, at the end of the summer. I just walked in here today and he remembered me! My own dad wouldn't recognize me a year later. And I got to tell you, his food is fantastic, I don't know why he isn't busier than he is. Maybe because it's in a depressed town,. but if you're within 10 mi of this place and you want to have a nice lunch, this is definitely the place to go, prices are good food is excellent, and Tony's a really nice guy.
We were passing by this area and based on posted reviews decided to stop for a dinner at this place. The food was very nice. The salad was fresh and crispy, the stuffed cabbage was also good as well as grilled chicken. The chicken was tasty and juicy. Now about the down side. I know about restaurant standards for cleanliness and the following will be based on that knowledge. First of all, restrooms need some good cleanings and that cleaning should start from the walls. Those walls didn't see any soapy water for a long time. Than the hardwood floor. It also needs some good cleaning, probably sanding, and than refinishing. The floor looks very dirty and ugly. Next are the windows. They are nice and big, but also must be cleaned daily. Customers shouldn't see thick dust on windows frames and especially dry dead flies. The cleanliness of any restaurant is one of top priorities for a management. As far as I saw, this restaurant is short on staff, but that cannot be count as an excuse for all those dirty areas.
Very hard to find a place that' Cooks from scratch . Had the stuff cabbage and it was to die for. The crab cakes were also very good no frozen food here. Very warm and friendly staff . We had a new waitress and she was very pleasant . Going back again tonight. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended. First time posted any where.
We were 4 people on a 2-day business trip in the area. Luckily for us this little gem of a restaurant was only two street corners away from our destination. Over the course of 2 days we tried; Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, Spaghetti with very large Meat Balls, Meat Loaf, Stuffed Cannelloni, Garlic Shrimp, Baked Potato, Cabbage Soup, Chicken Soup, and Salad. We also asked for an Italian favorite Spaghetti Aglio E Olio / Garlic Spaghetti that wasn't on the menu but Tony cooked it for us and it was perfect. In fact, everything was perfect right down to the freshly baked garlic / fine herbs bread rolls. Tony was very friendly and accommodating. The menu wildly varied for such a small place. The prices were right. The portions hearty we even took some back with us!. Tony is an Egyptian-American that cooks better than the best Italian mama. He told us he was struggling a bit to make ends meet his restaurant is basically in the middle of nowhere. It is well worth the detour if you're in the area or driving along the 17. He deserves the encouragement. We all give it a 5 out of 5. It was the highlight of our trip. Thanks Tony, greetings from Canada!
