Description

The Tooele Army Depot Fire Department supports approximately 2220 employees between both the Tooele Army Depot and Desert Chemical Depot.
The Tooele Army Depot is approximately 25,172 acres in size and has around 1,697 buildings. It also houses around 900 munitions igloos and has a storage capacity of over 2 million square feet. TEAD currently employees approximately 500 civilian employees.
DCD consists of approximately 19,000 acres, 208 igloos, a demilitarization facilitiy, two laboratories, maintenance areas, administrative buildings, and massive infrastructure. DCD currently employs around 1,650 people to include military, civilian and contractors.
The surrounding communities of Tooele, Grantsville, Rush Valley, Ophir, Stockton, and Vernon consist of approximately 46,000 people. For many of these communities, the Depot Fire Department is the closest resource, and is one the few fully staffed career Fire Department capable of a 24/7 response . As such, the Tooele Army Depot Fire Department is routinely called out for mutual aid, and has several mutual aid agreements in place.

MISSION STATEMENT:
The Tooele Army Depot Fire Department is committed to providing the highest level of life and property safety, in the most efficient and cost effective manner. Our Department strives to meet these tasks through the following programs: Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services, Public Education, Prevention Services and Special Operations.

VISION STATEMENT:
Provide rapid and efficient response to emergency medical incidents, fires and complex rescues in order to safeguard life and property on Tooele Army Depot, as well its surrounding communities. Plan and develop to meet the future needs of the Fire Department, ensuring efficiency of continuity of operations. Provide continued Public Education and Prevention Services to ensuring the safety of our employees and their families. Provide the highest level of Emergency Medical Services to our citizens.
Provide firefighters with the latest and best available training and equipment to perform their duties, and remain ~ ALWAYS AT THE READY ~
