James is great to do business with! He is knowledgeable and professional. He works quickly and efficiently. I have no doubt that he knows what he's doing. The thing I like best is that he shows me what he is doing and explains everything clearly so I understand how my system works and what needs to be done and why.
We have a fairly large yard with two sprinkler systems. I called an spoke to James over the phone and explained what was happening and were very sure there was a leak in our system. James came out that same day and was able to diagnois the problem as electrical and repaired it within a very short time. He was very professional and informed me of the service needed and was very honest in regards to the necessary and unnecessary services needed. I would consider Top-Notch Irrigation a very reputable company and will definitely recommend them to family and friend. What a pleasure working with this company!
First, you are directed to the website for appt scheduling. No big, deal, I had used them before. One the website, no available dates listed for Round Rock. I found that odd. Went to May, June, same thing. So I call. I get a call back, and provided my info, and the fact that I was a returning customer. All I needed was a replacement head, I figured, $23. The guy comes and gets it done in literally 10 minutes. He then proceeds to present a bill for $132. I call James, and he offers to reduce to $100, and then tells me he had to charge a service call and claims I scheduled on a "Georgetown day" even though I called them, gave my address and They Scheduled IT. Definitely not the way to treat a repeat customer.
I have known James for many years now and can vouch for character and his company. You can depend on James to do what he says he is going to do. He has never let me down. Thanks James for the outstanding service you provide. Keep up the good work...
Very courteous yes, professional, no. A professional reviews his jobs when they are submitted instead of the day of the scheduled event only to cancel because he doesnt do new sprinkler zones. I put in a appointment request 2 weeks ago and got an apologetic phone call this morning cancelling the appointment. He considers adding a new zone equivalent to installing a new system, which is not even close to reality.
Whoever rated this place as poor to fair is probably a competitor trying to discourage business to Top Notch. I have a sprinkler system put in by Choate Irrigation. Ive had numerous problems with it and the customer service at Choate is horrendous. So when my sprinkler system started acting up, I looked for another option even if it meant it wasn't covered by the warranty. That's when I found Top Notch. After reading the 1 person's shady review, I was a bit hesitant, but due to the other positive reviews I decided to make the call. It was answered in a very friendly and personable manner. I told him what my problem was and he said he could probably fix it over the phone so that I didn't have to incur a fee for having him come out to my house. I was on my way to work and told him I would have to call him back later when I was at home. When I got home, I called and left a voicemail. It was returned within 5 mins. We made some changes in the control panel and the problem was fixed. He was extremely polite and efficient. I will ABSOLUTELY call him again should the need arise and will highly recommend him. If you need work on your sprinkler system - THIS IS THE GUY TO CALL. Do not put any weight into the only negative review. You will not be sorry. :
6 stars more appropriate here. James owner who shows up on time, and calls before does work too and Paul who probably knows as much as James :- came today to fix about 5 problems. Diagnosed in minutes, fixed in 20, and was VERY professional. Don't get that much these days. I will be tooting this service to people in my neighborhood who ask. Did I mention it was more than reasonable? Other people quotes me 30% higher. Best irrigation service I've had!
Absolutely THE WORST experience with a company I have had to date. Do not, I repeat DO NOT use this company. I went online and signed up for their assessment since we moved into our house in the fall and we wanted a professional to look at the sprinkler system. James and his employee came out and told us our control panel was broken, some wires needed fixing, and that a pipe was broken. We asked him to fix all of that except the panel he was asking for 250 bucks to install a new one, it was 50 bucks for us to do it ourselves. We paid 180 bucks for them to fix the wires and pipe break and do the "assessment". I was foolish enough to actually trust that the assessment they had completed was sufficient. Fast forward a month and I realize that parts of our grass are dying. I go out and turn our sprinkler system on to find sprinkler heads watering fences and a sprinkler head that was completely broken. When I called to express my frustrations to James I left a voicemail and asked that he come back out and address the issues that were still apparent make sure sprinkler heads are working and watering the right areas. He called me back twice on Sunday of which I missed his phone calls and then at 7:30 in the morning on Monday only to argue with me and tell me that he had told my husband that these things were broken and that my husband told him not to fix them. Why would we have an assessment done on our sprinkler system only to turn down some of the most important fixes broken heads? He said "maybe you didn't want to pay for it." What?! We had him fix everything else but the panel. The fact that the owner called me not to say "I'm concerned with the experience that you had with our company. I would like to come out and take a look at your property again and see what the issues are that you are still experiencing" and instead argued with me and ultimately hung up on me oh yes, he hung up on me when I said that he was unprofessional and I didn't want to continue the conversation is so out of this world ridiculous! Instead he called to tell me that making sure sprinkler heads are facing the right direction is not part of the assessment and that we turned down some incredibly important fixes. That's just straight up crazy. *I'd like to note that we did not get the chance to go through and meticulously check his work since we both work full time, have a young child and our system goes off very early in the morning. It was after seeing our grass dying that I bought myself some time to go through and check. I can't believe the lack of professionalism with this company. Don't waste your time or money.
Professional, courteous, knowledge and timely. These gentlemen came out and inspected my older system, fixed a pipe break, made some adjustments, and setup my controller for me, all while charging me an extremely reasonable rate. Will recommend to friends and neighbors.
James and team have been our sprinkler go to guys for years. After a landscaper accidentiy messed up my system and could not fix it, I had to call the pro's who figured out the issues cut wires, not connected wires, tweaked some heads and found a leak I didn't know I had. All in all, these guys are Top Notch. Hey that's what they should call themselves. Oh wait..... anyway call them to keep your sprinkler systems working perfectly. I give the 5 stars only because 6 isn't an option.
