Learning Principles
Topeka Public Schools has adopted 10 learning principles that provide a research-based and conceptual foundation for how people learn. These learning principles should consistently guide all TPS staff in their instructional and other decisions.
Strategic Plan
The 2010-2015 Topeka Public Schools strategic plan was approved by the Board of Education on April 1, 2010. The committee was lead by Dr. Steve Burkholder, Executive Director of Instruction. The strategic planning committee spent hundreds of hours working on the plan and its goals. The committee was made up of parents, students, community members, teachers and principals. The results of their process are encapsulated in a brochure available for download on the district website.
