Topeka Regional Airport, formerly known as Forbes Field, is a public airport owned by the Metropolitan Topeka Airport Authority in Shawnee County, Kansas, seven miles south of downtown Topeka, the capital city of Kansas. The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015 called it a general aviation airport. United Express had scheduled airline flights on January 7, 2014, with two daily departures to Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, but ceased on September 2, 2014. Allegiant Air offered scheduled flights to Las Vegas, but discontinued service on July 30, 2007.Topeka Regional Airport is used by the University of Kansas (KU) for charter flights for its athletic teams and by schools visiting the KU campus in Lawrence, which is 34mi east of the airport via the Kansas Turnpike. (Kansas City International Airport is 51mi from KU).Federal Aviation Administration records say the airport had 14,922 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2008, 11,985 in 2009 and 15,115 in 2010.

Terrible waste of my tax money. The name says it all..Million Air. For the rich. A midsize, non-descript, non-destination fly over town like Topeka has no need of 2 airports. Pathetic. 4 stars for the museum and Veterans at Forbes.
I love doing part time for this airport with Walter and the Million-Air department! This airport is well organized and clean. The staff is polite and professional. Walter had been promoted to the East Coast President of the American Airlines if I remember right and has been gone about two years now and I hope he's doing well. I'm still doing part time work for Topeka Regional Airport and the new boss of the Million Air Section is cool and doing it great job leading the team!
Picking up KU Team. Had a wait for them to arrive. Had breakfast there, cook was great made a burrito just the way I wanted. Good job.
It's a wonderful open space for our "Tai Chi for Veterans and You". We saw the arrival of Texas Tech fans for the game with KU.
This was an excellent place to visit...I especially enjoyed the vets taking the time to do tours and explain everything completely. . To see the raw emotion connected to the memories is something both myself and my daughter will remember for a long time. .. By the end of the tour we thanked or guide not only for the tour but his service as well... we were all a bit teary eyed.
I was there for the Thunder air show!!!! Commentating was great. All the planes were awesome. My first time at an air show. It was so much fun!!!!
Take taxpayers money and don't use it. Their salary does increase. Don't get new business to the airport. Lost contract with a major airline. They put personal social security numbers and names on public pages on the web page. Staff refuses to respond to emails or phone calls.
Excellent staff an clean comfortable atmosphere would recommend for any company.
Attended The Topeka Air Show, and had a great time. Looks like we could handle more commercial flights from here.
