Beautiful building full of beautiful wood and very interesting history. Can't wait to go back and learn more.
Awesome place for the family. The first floor was amazing. It was really cool to see the home pretty much as it was left in the mid 1950's. Beautiful ceilings and floors and an amazing glass and teapot collection from the 18th and 19th century.
Such an interesting place to visit for all ages, especially if you like history. The hours are limited, typically 12pm-4pm, but make sure to visit their website before heading over to verify their hours of operation. And they aren't open year-round because it's probably a big expense to heat the museums during the winter. They're typically closed from November to April, but they do decorate for Christmas and are open briefly for the holiday to visitors, but once again, make sure to visit their website for updated events and schedule because things do change. And last, but not least, the staff that we met their were very friendly and knowledgeable.
the tour was just fantastic just an unbelievable house. Highly recommended especially if you like history.
One of Torrington’s hidden gems!
Had a lovely tour of the house. Lots of information shared and came away learning a lot about the family that lived there. The restoration work is amazing.
Great history, beautiful architecture!!
Thank you for keeping our History alive. Super friendly Staff!
