"The Torrington Historical Society operates two permanent exhibits of Torrington history, the Hotchkiss-Fyler House Museum, and the John H. Thompson Library and Archive. Exhibits are self-guided and are open mid April through October, Wednesday through Saturday from 12-4. The museum exhibits are handicapped accessible.The Hotchkiss-Fyler House Museum, a grand Victorian house built in 1900, contains original family furnishings, impressive woodwork, murals, stenciled walls and fine and decorative art collections. Guided tours of the house museum are available mid April through October on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 1, 2 and 3 pm.The research library is open by appointment.
