If I could give Total Women zero star, I would. I have Total Woman Irvine membership for about 5 years. They recently changed ownership, raised prices and started some new policies that really make this place unpleasant. They no longer give members the flexibility of using the monthly facial service a few days late or let someone use your monthly service when you can't go. They changed the computer system and my 17 unused personal trainer sessions disappeared. They said, " I am sorry, but there is no way to trace it." Are you kidding me? That was more than a thousand dollar! I tried to talk to their manager Rose. But she didn't reply after I called twice. I went to Total Woman Irvine today and tried to talk to Rose. I was told she was on the phone and I would have to wait an hour to talk to her. After being a loyal customer for 5 years, I just canceled my membership today due to extreme disappointment about their management. Total Woman has horrible customer service and does not care about their members!
I used to love this place! Have been a member for over 15 years and now my account is on a medical hold due to a accident I was in and they accidentally charged me for 2 months. No problem, I called the corporate office to have it corrected and the charges were reversed. But, the money never went it my account. Called again, was told the same thing and still the money never showed up. I have been trying to reach them for over 4 weeks now to get this resolved, calling daily, and leaving numerous messages every single day. Not one single response. Ever. I have even reached HR and explained my story. Still no one has returned my call. I now am left with no choice but to take legal action. I used to be their biggest fan, and recommend them to everyone, but with this type of customer service, I am going to get my money back and move on. Quickly. They have wasted so much of my time and energy, and what they are doing is corrupt. Please do not waste your time or money here. If you have any issues, they will not get resolved. I'm sure they will be closing their doors soon. You can't run a business with that type of customer service.
I am a long time member of this gym. It changed hands several times and each time the service is slowly going bad. Because it is the only women only gym in the area, I keep my membership. There used to be more classes and more variety of classes. The changing rooms need maintenance, equipments need to be renewed. The exercise room could get very slippery. The weights are chipping away. I hope management pays attention to these problems asap.
I’ve had memberships at quite a few places because I move a lot. I’ve realized no place is going to be able perfect. Bally fitness screwed me for $2,000. Woman’s day spa in Fayetteville NC wouldn’t let me discontinue my membership unless I die or moved first. I neeed to cancel membership a few months before I moved. They wouldn’t allow it. And dying is not part of my plan. 24 hour I think is the same for me as total woman. But I like that Tw is all female. As for service, they’ve always treated me fine. I go in to work our and leave. I didn’t understand the yearly maintenance fee but I do understand now that I’ve been there for 6 months. As for cleanliness at the facility and rules, I think that’s up to the members to hold themselves accountable to respect other members. The cleaners aren’t there to pick up our hair and towels every hour. We’re adults we can do that ourselves. It sucks that most girls: women dont. They leave their hair mess in the shower and exercise mats and barbels where they used it last. They don’t put it away after they’re done so others don’t trip over it. I see elderly ladies struggling to walk around it to have to get to where they need to be. So I just think if we’re old enough to exercise there then we’re old enough to hold ourselves responsible to put things back. I always do out of respect for everyone else who works out there. Just because they don’t doesn’t mean I’m going to stop putting things away or cleaning up after myself. Just today someone left their bra pads in the shower. That’s a first but some people just don’t have a clue but it’s not the cleaning ladies’ fault if they’ve already cleaned minutes before or not right behind someone to pick it up. They’re obviously not going to have cameras in the spa area so it’s not like they can see who’s going in there with they’re shoes and talk on the phone. Again it’s up to us as members to respect other members to follow their rules. Someone being mad about teenagers talking on the one in the sauna should have spoken up to them. Geeze they’re just teens. If you don’t like it, there’s nothing wrong with politely asking them to take their phones outside. A few months ago some chick came in with her full workout clothes while I was in the sauna. She wasn’t even that young. She was talking on the phone in full normal voice about another chick working out. Luckily she didn’t stay that long or else I may have said something. As for shaving in the spa area... that’s just gross. That’s really gross. Common sense I guess isn’t all that common. I do think their treadmills need to be replaced. I can’t say much about the classes. I’ve only been to two. I just don’t have time or the patience for classes anyway. All in all I sometimes think I would give it a 3.5 , 4 highest
Speaking to a representative there just now solidified the other reviews I read earlier. I was, by no means rude or unjust, quite the opposite really. By knowing the who's who in the health and fitness industry, I will firsthand see this facility to its demise...in terms of business that is. The lack of ethics and good measure here are mindblowing. My advice as a much respected fitness professional, choose another facility.
I used to go to their Brea location when I lived in Fullerton and it was a five star spa and gym. I moved to Irvine and I was thrilled to find a Total Woman again, but unfortunately this particular location needs a major update. Most of their treadmills are old and half of them don't work right, their selection of equipment is very poor, and the popular classes are packed. To make matters worst, the spa area is not as meticulous as other locations. The rules are not enforced and some clients seem to do whatever they want without care. For example, there was a lady once shaving inside the jacuzzi, another was drying her clothes in the sauna while making a ton of noise, and a couple of young girls walk in the sauna with their athletic clothes and sneakers while talking on their phone!!!! The idea is to relax and not get frustrated! I am amazed with what people do and how they can trash a place but there has to be a way to update the gym and spa, and enforce some rules. I keep my membership but I try to go during quiet times to avoid the craziness and to find a machine that works.
This new rule of calling 2 days in advance to reserve a spot in babysitting is the stupidest idea! So many of us moms pay for our membership but aren’t able to come bc it’s so hard to book that much in advance. Not to mention it’s almost always booked up anyways!!! I didn’t expect the company to screw its members like this!
This place is ripping people off. Choose a different gym because they will be out of business soon enough just like the rest pf there locations. Oh and don't be surpirsed when you have to dispute charges from them with your bank.
So bad place discrimination in it they are so fake and they took more money than i want they said we will give back to you but they didnt they said you supposed the read agreement after i went there five times and they say we are sorry to we supposed the give you that money but they didn't. So the place is so bad i will go to the court for my rights so don't go this place my 10 friends decided to not go too.
