Touro took care of my Son and they were there for him. Very supportive and thoughtful and super intelligent on the care he needed. People at the hospital talked us in to going to Houston and he did but he also went to Touro after that and we both said we should have went to Touro from the beginning because he had a way better experience because everything he needed was right there at the Touro Rehabilitation. 10 out of 10 recommend. Peace and thanks Touro
As a proud Dad of four beautiful children, I have been able to experience labor and delivery in a terrific way. On Juneteenth of 2023 my wife and I arrived at Touro Medical Center to welcome our son Jacob Daniel Savoy into the amazing establishment. I was thoroughly impressed with the “Labor & Delivery” process. Upon arrival we did encounter the Emergency’s front desk; I was not too fond of the lack of support and care from the main Emergency department. However, the “Labor & Delivery Department” was outstanding! I am beyond grateful for the professionalism, urgency, care, support, kindness, loving, longsuffering and 100% on board as a team. I was amazed to see that we were placed in a delivery room within 10 minutes. I would desire to experience wheelchairs. The security department expressed that we wouldn’t be able to use the wheelchair; that if I did use the wheelchair that I would have to bring it back to him. That was NOT my concern at that moment. However, the halls are extremely long and for a pregnant woman contracting to walk. This was a major concern for me. I understand that protocol is to be followed however, patients are the first priority and neglect is not a feasible option. Aside from the minor things; everything was great. Also, they gave us cookies! I truly recommend “TOURO Hospital.” I look forward to entrusting the Medical Professionals with our LIFE as well as our Children. God Bless The Savoy’s
I went to the ER there last night because I was having pain and cramping while pregnant. I'm not from New Orleans so I was worried about what kind of care I'd get. This was the closest hospital to Children's Hospital where my son currently is so I chose it in case the hospital called about my kid. It didn't take very long for me to get admitted and them to start running tests. The nurse got in an IV for me to get fluids with one quick easy stick. He drew blood and the ultrasound tech they called to check on my baby got their really quickly. The doctor didn't take long to come in and give me my results and some medications. I have a UTI so he made sure I got a dose of antibiotics immediately. The whole staff was very friendly and I wasn't there very long. I hadn't gotten to get any tests done for this pregnancy because my son's been in and out of the hospital for shunt issues for a month. They understood and all gave their well wishes for his recovery. I feel confident that if I need to go back in the future while I'm here that I'll be taken care of.
I had a total hip replacement on June 26, 2023. Everyone on Q7 was wonderful. I had great care and staff was always upbeat. I believe that department is special - that staff only stays with that unit - the care is well organized and cohesive.
Touro Hospital used to be one of the best Hospitals in New Orleans. Now, it's coming to be the worst! Imagine walking in to the E.R. to find out if you are truly pregnant due to pain in your body and for the Doctor to not take you seriously. She was rude as hell, the nurses were rude too! There three in this small rude as the woman checked my blood pressure And they were looking at me as if they saw a Ghost! Didn't even say hello and questioning about things that didn't concern them! What the hell was that about?!?! The only two who were nice was the woman who did my ultrasound. Unfortunately I loss my baby. Yes I lost my child Touro! And they didn't even want to check my blood for pregnancy. Also, they released me with high blood pressure. Who does that????? Touro Hospital does! It was almost 200 over 90! The nurse lied to me about my results. The reason I know this is because I caught the trash in a lie! She was saying that all my tests were negative but when I asked for the quantitative pregnancy test number of HCG then I told her I know the difference. She got scared I guess she thought that maybe I worked in the hospital or something then she whispered they never did it. So you all withdraw 7 tubes of blood from me to not test my blood at all??????? Why did you take my blood then?!?! I should file a lawsuit. Also, I was being released and the woman said you can go. No hello or anything..just you can go. I said do you even know who I am?????? She said they told me to release you. And Becky mother was already stressed since security was rude to her and my boyfriend I just decided to gom the people that work in the Touro E.R. in the afternoon and at night are very very evil people!!!!!!!! I'll never go back there! They're extremely rude. Also, you all need to do something with the old lady who works mornings in third floor registration. She's not only rude, but act deaf, blind, and moody. Four timess she's ignored my mother and I as we were trying to check my mother in as a patient there. She just sits there never acknowledging us until I say loudly EXCUSE ME HELLO!!!!! something is seriously wrong with Touro Hospital staff being very rude I'll mannered liars not running tests properly but billing the hell out of you!!! I'm so knof this Hospital. Nomore Touro for us!
I went o the hospital the day before my surgery to make sure everything would go smoothly, it did not! I was treated as a non person and my patient rights were violated. I have yet to hear from the “patient advocate” or anyone at Touro regarding this incident. I have emailed the advocate and CEO.
TO START OFF WITH IF I COULD GIVE A ZERO I WOULD !!! The operator when you call is absolutely HORRIBLE along with the HOSPITAL. My daughter was told by Dr. Knapp she had lost her child and almost 3 months later she called her in for a checkup and found out that she needed to have surgery ASAP. Now she is having compilations and they told her she will be just fine! I DO NOT RCOMEND THIS HOSPITAL OF STAFF NOT EVEN FORMY ANIMALS!!!!!
I had to have surgery immediately due to an infection in my small intestine. From the moment I arrived at Touro Hospital until the moment I was discharged I received the best care that anyone could ever ask for. I have no complaints about any of the physicians, nurses, techs or anyone. These doctors and nurses put out 110%! Most of the time they where in my room tending to whatever it was I needed before I even knew I needed it. They put so much of themselves out there without any appreciation, gratitude or a thank you. This will be the hospital I’ll be going to from now on. Thank you to the entire staff at Touro Hospital! You are greatly appreciated! Laurie Lyons
Their new senior care floor boasts huge televisions, large digital clocks, newer and more comfortable beds. There’s also a family lounge area with a mini fridge and a coffee maker.
My foot was scheduled to be amputated after dealing with foot ulcers for a decade. I went to the same doctor for years and they treated me but no healing solutions were ever given. I tried Touro's wound care and the ulcers were healed in three weeks. I still have my foot. I strongly recommend them to anyone dealing with diabetes.
