We offer a Master of Public Health (MPH) Degree, providing students the expertise needed to assume leadership roles in managing the needs of populations at the local, state, national, and international level.
Experienced faculty train students academically and professionally, helping to cultivate future leaders who will meet current and emerging public health challenges locally and abroad. It is the Public Health Program’s mission to promote the health and well being of local and global communities through education, service, and research with a focus on underserved populations. The Public Health Program at Touro University California offers a 42-unit course of study in two specialty tracks in Community Health or Global Health:
Community Health Track: Emphasizes a focus on health issues from a whole community perspective, promoting health, and preventing disease, disability and premature death through education-driven voluntary behavior change. This track provides students with the skill and knowledge in the community that enables them to gain valuable experience in a wide variety of settings including: county health departments, hospitals, voluntary health agencies, and worksite health promotion programs.
Global Health Track: Prepares students to be effective leaders and advocates for global health. Our curriculum reflects the current realities of health around the world and reinforces the links between countries at different stages of economic development. Through practical and case based learning, students gain more understanding of global health issues and the solutions available to address them career opportunities with international health agencies such as, WHO, UNHCR, PAHO), federal agencies, like the CDC and USAID, state agencies, immigrant and migrant health services, philanthropic organizations, and academic and research institutions.
