Has a playground for kids. Soft rubber ground cover for comfort. I believe you can go up in the tower. It happened to be closed today. Looks like it'd have excellent views.
Very nice park in downtown Peoria Heights. Fun for the entire family. Nice small playground with handicapped equipment so everyone can enjoy. There is a stage and pretty fountain. Let's not forget the towel which you can tour to the top. Restrooms are also on sight. My grandson and I enjoyed this park very much and will be back. I highly recommend.
Great view! If your visiting the area be sure to check this out. Very affordable to go to the top in the elevator. Right now it’s $2 per person or $20 for the season pass.
This is a nice little park. I would like to go again earlier in the day and when I have more time to explore. I am terrified of heights, but chose to go up anyway. Boy-Howdy am I glad I did!! It was only $3 and I stayed to the back of the elevator. I took my time going up the staircases to the tippity top. I couldn't go to the rail, but still enjoyed the views. Breathtaking!!
I did a lot of research before I got in town but somehow this 300 foot tall water tower did not come onto my radar. Lucky for me. It was at the end of the scenic drive that I had bookmarked. It was very interesting crawling to the top in a very small, slow elevator after buying our tickets. There’s not especially a lot to see at the top, but they make it very visually interesting by putting markers, pointing in the direction of cities and marking how far off they are. There are three observation decks, the top of which has no roof and minimal guard rails, which makes it very terrifying If you are in anyway afraid of heights, which I guess I am after having spent less than a minute on the third level and immediately going back to the second. I was surprised that there weren’t more safety measures up there as it seemed pretty easy to just jump off if someone felt so inclined which places this height generally assume people are, it seems. Overall, I thought it was very cool that this place has its own little ticket booth and was the town little attraction is still running. It feels like little things like this. Stopped getting the maintenance and attention they needed to function along time ago at most places.
Nice night out, band, wine, beer, food trucks. And dancing !! Oh kids playground on the side.
Lived just sitting and enjoying company at the park while the kids played. Plenty of places for different families to sit. It has a nice band stand I play at with the Peoria heights band a well. Great location where you can walk to anywhere in the heights from, very easily. I would l like to see the bathrooms checked more as there was no toilet paper.
Not a fan of heights, however the view from the top is pretty amazing. Get a birds eye view of the river and surrounding area and just marvel at the might hand of God and His creations. Elevator ride may make the knees a little weak but it's way better than the stairs.
Recently updated. Great place when it is sunny out because it surrounded by some trees and the old water tower so it is not too hot for the kids. There is clean restroom. Near restaurants if you decided to get a bite to eat after. Playground: Well shaded area during most hours of the day on sunny days. Newer playground. Restrooms: Clean.
Pretty high up, you can see a long ways away on a clear day. I got nervous going up the elevator cause you can see all the way down. It was cool still, and only cost 2 bucks to check it out
