Town & Country Fire District was formed on June 1st 1973. The district was formed by Homer Twp of Medina County, Congress Twp, West Salem Village, and Congress Village of Wayne County.
Town & Country Fire District was formed on June 1st 1973, replacing the West Salem Volunteer Fire Department. We have 2 stations in the villages of West Salem and Congress in Wayne County. Our response area is approximately 70 square miles and covers Homer Twp in Medina County and Congress Twp, Congress Village, and West Salem Village in Wayne County. Town & County Fire District operates as a combination department with 3 full time employees Monday-Friday 8-4 and are all volunteer outside of those times.
