The Town Paramedic Unit was conceived and developed by James V. Ryan, Town Supervisor, Dr. Joseph Takats III and Norman Stocker Town of Tonawanda Director of Personnel in 1974.
The Town of Tonawanda Paramedic unit is an Advanced Life Support first response unit. The Town Paramedics provide Advanced Life Support to the citizens and visitors of the Town of Tonawanda and Village of Kenmore 24 hours a day 365 days a year. The Town Paramedics respond to nearly 8,000 calls for service yearly, or approximately 1 call every 65 minutes.
