The Town of Vernon Fire Department is the largest all volunteer fire department within the State of Connecticut. Our nearly 200 dedicated members respond to a wide variety of emergencies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The Town of Vernon, located in Tolland County, is approximately 18.6 square miles in area and has a diverse population of nearly 30,000. Our department responds to an upwards of 1000 fire related incidents and 3500 emergency medical service calls per year. All incidents are dispatched through Tolland County Mutual Aid Fire Service, (Station TN), out of Tolland, CT.
Our department operates seven Engines, two Tower Ladders, two Heavy Rescues, three Ambulances, and a variety of support vehicles out of five fire stations and one public safety/ambulance building.
Our members actively engage in fire service training, public education, and fire prevention.
