I recently had an interesting experience at the local game store that left me with mixed feelings. While the owner of the store was friendly and seemed genuinely concerned about the community, the overall buying experience was disappointing due to poor communication and unfulfilled promises. A few months ago, I placed a pre-order for a highly anticipated product, and the owner assured me that he would secure it for me. Unfortunately, when the product arrived, he didn't have enough to fulfill all the pre-orders. Initially, I requested a refund, but he insisted that he would ship the product to me once it was restocked. When the restock finally arrived, I promptly followed up with the owner, asking him to hold the product for me since I had pre-ordered and paid in full. To my dismay, he informed me that he couldn't ship the product anymore. He went on to explain that he had sold it to someone else, claiming it was a "first come, first serve" situation. To make matters worse, he informed me that he could only offer me one unit instead of the six I had originally ordered. What bothered me most was that if the owner had communicated better, I wouldn't have wasted three hours of my time traveling to the store. I would have appreciated a heads-up about the change in plans or at least a notification that my pre-order couldn't be fulfilled as initially promised. Despite this disappointing experience, I want to emphasize that the owner genuinely seems to care about his community. The store has a welcoming atmosphere, and he goes out of his way to engage with customers and foster a sense of community. I sincerely hope that the store thrives and improves its communication practices. In summary, while the owner of the game store is friendly and shows dedication to the community, the buying experience was marred by inadequate communication and unfulfilled promises. It is my sincere wish that the owner takes this feedback constructively and strives to communicate better with customers in the future.
Hey my name is Aiden. I am one of the new people that regularly go to Toys n things to play Magic the gathering, the prices are very reasonable and the people there are pretty happy and nice. I have friends from school that go there that’s why I have fun for the most part. I’m hoping to get a Magic deck there soon for $20. It’s a reasonable price. Overall the place is very good, very good business, it’s gonna get very far. I still go there and I’ve had no problems and I don’t think I will have any. Lovely place. I just wanted to leave a review. Okie, bye!
The owner was very courteous, and great at making conversation with us while we were there. The prices were much better than other game stores I have been to in the area,, and the owner was even kind enough to include a promo card that he had a spare of with my purchase. I'm looking to make this my primary location for Magic events once social distancing is no longer in place!
It's a local shop ran by a friendly owner that just wants to help him build a community. Always support your local businesses and if you don't see something that you're looking to buy you can always ask him and he's very good about ordering something if he is missing it. Good for Magic an extremely good for anyone that's a tabletop gamer.
Friendly owner and great selection of MTG cards and other products. There is a comfortable feel to the place and prices are reasonable. Looking forward to stopping by again!
As I mentioned to the owner ?, I like to stop into local game shops when I travel. Being in the area, I took a moment to stop by. My initial thought upon entering was that the store was cramped. There was an excellent explanation for that though: they were hosting a kids' night. I love that the store encourages the younger generation to game. I'm primarily a RPG player /collector and didn't find anything, so I wasn't there long, but it seems like an inviting, small town gaming shop.
Got a sweet Warhammer set of minis for a friend of mines birthday gift. He loved the miniatures and the assortment of MTG cards we got him. The store is my go-to stop for legitimate gaming needs and the owner is very smart, helpful and friendly. As I was leaving, he invited me to a game of DnD 5E but I can't commit to a full campaign at this time. Keep up the good work!
Great place would go again. They have quite a bit of stuff in here regarding table top games. They are very knowledgeable. I asked the worker to show me some game mats he knew exactly what to show me and explained why it was a better mat than the others. In addition to this I asked him about a star wars role playing book now out of pro t to see if they had it. They did not but he even checked the books the store had for running games to see if he had it to sell me. I would definitely go back. There were some young kids in there playing a Wii u. They were kind of loud and one child was crying about a game. The person running the store told them to quiet down and told the younger one that that is how the game goes. I could see some people getting aggravated at this but honestly I didn't think they were too loud and o have a child so I view it as kids being kids. I know I was that way at their age. Great store, friendly and knowledgeable workers, great stock. You are missing out if you don't check it out.
Already reviewed Toys once before, great place for gaming, Commander tuesday nights is a blast. D&D commonly occurs through out the week as well. I would definitely give the store a shot if you haven't before or lately.
There are two problems that I have had in the past here. Firstly there are a lot of toxic players who are not dealt with in such a way that their behavior is made clear to them to be unacceptable, I would suggest being a bit more assertive when a shouting match occurs. This is of course your store, not their home, and they should act appropriately. Second, the rules are not made clear to newcomers to the store. I came in one day to play and decided to trade a card with my friend. I was promptly kicked out and was told that "I knew the rules". I won't be returning any time soon, however if I hear from friends that things are less tense and more controlled I may come back and will certainly alter my rating.
