If you’re travelling from Victoria to mid or up island with young children, this a perfect spot to rest and stretch and let the kids to burn some energy. It has all you might need: ample parking, wash rooms, ocean with fantastic views, playground, splash park, picnic tables, gazebos, even food trucks.
Wide open for the kids to play and run around, good facilities and the whole area is well kept. A cool refreshing place to go on a hot day with great views.
Great park with beach as well as playground and splash pad! Bathroom building, free parking and even a bike repair area. Wish we had more time to spend here it was a great spot on a sunny day! And close enough to so many shops restaurants and bakeries/ice cream places
The best public park I have attended with a toddler. Well kept, great amenities change rooms, food trucks, adjacent gallery and coffee, kayak rentals, nice nature surprises blackberry brambles frame the walk down, both a rocky and Sandy beach, and a moderate sized splash zone and park for multiple ages.
Great park with a splash pad, playground, beach, mountain view, bathrooms, amphitheater, and picnic spots and benches. Lots of parking available. There are some shoes and toys our right now for the Kamloops children. There are also some food trucks that come by here.
We attended the events on Sunday and found Transfer Beach to be a wonderful park with so many things for children to do: playground, spray park, beach volleyball, the beach, swimming etc. The public bathrooms were open and there were benches scattered throughout the park.
Found this place by total fluke. We were making our way to Tofino and my daughter got car sick so we had to pull over. She was fine after walking around for a bit but in the meantime we stumbled upon a true gem. The area was so big and looked like so much to do. There were huge ocean liner ships to people with kayaks, saw kids in the playground too. Beautiful day as well, people were on bikes, walking dogs and just soaking up the sun before it gets cooler. Gonna make a trip to come here for the day or perhaps the weekend itself.
Great place for families, been coming her for years and it's always really well maintained. Beautiful views from the play area; kayak area right off the beach. There's sometimes food trucks or events held down here as well
First time visit this beach park and I can say it was amazing experience and it was beautiful. I guess even more beautiful during summer time. Things that impressed me as a first timer : 1. Washroom that was clean, has changing rooms, disable toilet and also outside the washroom it has tap to clean your feet from beach sands; 2. It has kayak rental; 3. It has beach volley ball court; 4. It has basketball court; 5. It has amphi-theater. When you go towards south, it has a tunnel and connects you to downtown of Ladysmith. They also has a museum, marina and wharf. Important : they have free parking lot.
With a medium splash park, a large playground, a small sandy beach, and picnic tables, this is the perfect place to spend a sunny day with the kids. The real beach is all pebbles and we found some little crabs. Lots of places to sit and wide open space to run around. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the Tay Rex Mexican food truck is on-site. There's also an ice cream truck.
