I’m an American but I study Russian language at university. I came in to buy some snacks for an end of semester party. There are so many interesting and exciting products to buy here! Do not be intimidated to drop in, I guarantee you’ll find something you like. The staff was so patient and helpful and even helped me pick out the best Russian dishes to bring to my class. Спасибо большое!!
Quality of food and service deteriorated over the years - think twice before visiting. Grocery store selection shrinked, prices jumped. Employees looked depressed. Hard to believe in decline, as it was exciting place to visit for many years
It is very delicious and the price is decent. Definitely try hearing under the coat and sirniki. They are very delicious. My American friend couldn’t wait for me to take a pic and tried everything before and love it. Definitely to come back.
One of my favorite grocery stores. Great place for Eastern European groceries. Very friendly staff and plenty of choices. Plus, if you spend more than $100 they give you 10-20% 20-30% during weekends discount. Also, they have small Cafe.
Great restaurant and grocery store with plenty of Russian and Eastern European items to choose from. Very clean and the atmosphere is cool.
The pirozki and baked trout was delicious. Fish was perfectly cooked and juicy on the inside. Good portion sizes on the entrees. Good ambiance with live music played friday and saturday.
Now Matreshka in Rockville is even less of a drive
Moving to a new location The store was good when I visited last time but I showed up today and it was closed. Their facebook page says that after December 3rd this location will be closed and they are moving to a new address.
Stopped by for a quick lunch today and was impressed. Service is great, food was cooked and delivered to the table very quickly. I had vareniki with cabbage, vinegret salad and had really delicious morsberry juice to drink. Recommend!
I come here every now and then but today I found that my mother, who is a very frequent shopper here, was significantly disrespected. She was shopping there and told the staff “ by the way your crepes I bought a while ago were old and inedible “ . She didn’t ask for a discount, or money back or anything. Upon her remark the chef came out and began arguing with her that she is wrong and eventually called her a rude bully The place has good food, but Iam leaving only 2 stars because of the aggressive behavior my mother had to endure. I guess next time you get a product which you believe was bad/overdue, don’t even mention it
