Trona Airport is a public use airport in Inyo County, California, United States. The airport is owned by the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management and located four nautical miles (7.4 km) north of the central business district of Trona, California. It is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation facility.Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this airport is assigned L72 by the FAA but has the designation TRH from the IATA.HistoryDuring World War II it was an outlying airstrip supporting the U.S. Marine Corps Auxiliary Air Station Mojave located near Mojave, California.The airport was served by Golden West Airlines during the mid 1970s with scheduled passenger flights operated with de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter turboprops direct to Los Angeles (LAX).
