The Troup County Historical Society is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to promoting a greater appreciation of Troup County's heritage through the Troup County Archives and Legacy Museum on Main.

The purpose of the Troup County Historical Society is to increase and diffuse knowledge and a greater appreciation of sites, structures, events, personalities, and all other things which pertain to the development of Troup County, Georgia, and to acquire, hold, improve, preserve, develop and restore sites, buildings, and residences or other structures of historic and architectural interest, to promote tours, establish educational institutions and museums, to foster archeological research, mark Indian trails and to prepare and sell publications.
