We went in the dead of winter Jan 2022. The Lessman's were kind and inviting. They told us the story about their property and how Truckhenge came about. It was cold, but we loved being alone in the property & got beautiful photos. Would definitely go back on another road trip. Make the stop! Rob Lessman showed us his incredible art too!
Truly an amazing place. You can camp, and have bonfires, bring ur boat or camper or tent. Lots of fish just need ur fishing poles. You can also access their shooting range. There are wild peacocks and roosters. I like to sunbathe there in the summer float around on a raft, look for rocks they have lots of them I even found a Geode. Lots of fun!!!
The truckhenge art park was a drive-through experience, and it was truly unique. We were greeted by a peacock were given a pamphlet and peacock feather by a guy, not the bird. Quick 10 minute stop on our road trip, very nice.
The place looks awesome!! Just make sure you bring $10 per person to fish and have cash on you. I failed to bring any cash on me, which was my fault. It looks like a super interesting place though. Drive in slowly so you don't hit the chickens. How much does it cost to camp out there? I understand you are a business so posting prices would help out. Thank you!
Didn't have time to go in but will make time soon. Looks like you drive thru and walk, but not for sure. Photos are from the outer road.
Totally worth a visit! Ron was such a nice guy, and has plenty of dad jokes to share We were lucky enough to see his studio. Ron doesn’t consider himself an artist. Whatever his title, he has a lot of talent. His art is very unique, and is like nothing else we’ve ever seen. If you’re in Topeka, come see this place.
Must definitely unique visit!! I agree with other reviewers that the owner speaks so quickly that can be hard to understand but he was still fun to speak with! He was full of puns about his artworks!! Next time in the area we will definitely bring spray paint for the kids to tag the bus!!
A cool spot. Had to follow the signs to get in the right spot. Wasn't really sure that it was okay for me to be there, so I pulled up and hollered. The owner cam out and gave me his spiel, then directions to the henge. Drove around the area and found the boat and truckhenge, which were really cool. Honestly, it's probably a 4 star due to how chaotic the area is, but you should see it before it's gone. Time doesn't stop for anyone.
This place is truly delightful! Make sure to bring cash; the owner accepts tips but did not have a website for it, the last time I checked...
There's a lot more than trucks. IMO the best part is the bottle art. We were greeted by a very grand peacock.
