We had an emergency with our cat & the 1st vet hospital was not getting back to us, as we were no sure if our cat’s symptom’s, after getting bit by a random wild animal, were normal. We contacted True Care Veterinary Hospital in Howell & were able to get an appointment same day & so glad we did! The staff was kind, friendly & helpful & Dr. Larrosa was fabulous! He let us know that our cat Rivers had developed an infection, as the antibiotics were not working. From the 1st Vet Hospital He examined our cat administering fluids & gave us meds and we were asked to contact his office next day to let them know how Rivers was doing! Our cat is on the road to recovery and we really appreciated the expert advice & would recommend True Care Veterinary as they truly care about animals & your pet!!!‍ Dona & Steve
True Care Veterinary Hospital is 'ok'. They feign caring and interest in you and your pet but they are all about the money. They also have no idea on gaining loyalty of their customers. As a result, I will no longer patronize them. Here are examples of how they value money over you and your pet. 1 They never give prices prior to your pet's office visit. You get surprise bills that are way higher than other vets. I checked with my daughter and her vet does not charge the absorbent prices they do for things such as a checkup to vaccines. 2 They make sure to schedule your appointments to avoid having you use the coupons they have on their website. My husband took my dog for his rabies shot but I found a coupon for half off. However, the coupon said from 10 am to 5 pm. They intentionally made his appointment for 9:00 am. So, if you choose to stay with them, make sure you STUDY their coupons because they will try everything to ensure you are not able to use it. 3 I wanted to have my dog neuter by them. They wanted to make me come in for a consultation, even though they had just seen the dog for a checkup. Therefore, I would have to pay for a consultation visit and then for the neutering. I went to the Monmouth SPCA and paid around $90. And lastly, 4 Most of their front desk reps are unprofessional and unfriendly. Bye True Care, please learn about real customer service for your future patients - won't be me or my dogs.
We needed to unfortunately at the last minute rush to bring our cat here to be put down. They were extremely accomodating, understanding, and sympathetic. They saw us right away, were very kind, and sent us a sympathy card afterwards. Our old vet could not be bothered with even returning our call when our cat was on his death bed from cancer. This is now our new primary vet. Would recommend
Staff is always kind and happy to help. My dogs love the techs. We get their nails clipped once a month and my dogs are happy to see them. They treat your animals as their own. The doctors take their time and answer any and all questions. I would never take my animals anywhere else
Some of the front desk are nice some not to much. I brought my dog in and he was seen without me. I thought that was odd as I wanted to go bk with him. Turns out they did this during covid and kept doing it. I personally don't like my dog being carried away and not knowing what's being done or his results like weight ex as I forget to ask basic questions when the vet came in to speak to me in the room still without dog after I spoke to the vet I went bk into the waiting room were I waited for my dog after I finished paying.
My 12 yr old, 80lb dog Nola was in constant pain. Took her to her regular vet office twice and then to her knee surgeon, who did x-rays that showed nothing. They all said right hip arthritis, which I knew was not right. Took her to Northstar, and they didn't know but wanted to do a cat scan for $2,500.. Took her to see Dr. Larrosa at True Care, and he said he didn't know after examining and quick ultrasound, but instead of letting me leave, he sat on the ground and listened to me about how I knew it was not her hip and how I see painful reactions from her backside area. He just kept pushing spots and saying... around here, over here? Until, boom, Nola nearly collapsed, and I was like, 'what did you just do!? What was that? You found it!' She is big, strong and high energy for her age and injured near where the two sides of the pelvis meet, probably doing a split on slippery surface. Very painful and takes a long time to heal, but we know what it is and she's a little better each day. Thanks for listening Dr. Larrosa.
I was referred to True Care by a friend and have had about 4 visits so far. Each time the staff has been really nice. Dr Tullio is knowledgeable and kind. I have been able to get an appt within 2 days and even on the same day when necessary. My dog does not love going to the vet and has needed a muzzle at another vets office. At True Care she hasn’t had to wear one. She clearly feels safe there and that is the most important thing to me. I drive 45 minutes to True Care and I do it because of the great care they provide.
The staff members are really friendly. And the doctors are fantastic. But the pricing are ridiculous and disgusting. I was a client at the past 3-4 year and this time we will need to spay one off my puppy and they are wanting to charge over 2400$ for the surgery. The average coast in New Jersey 300-700$. They was charging 425$ for x-ray and doctor was recommended a blood test for around 250is and the stuff member was telling us to wait till Monday when they can do the surgery. And they was telling us the emergency services will be double or triple off this price! If I will not make the calls I will never found out we will getting way overpriced. I don't have any problems to pay premium for a good service but this is disgusting. You guys are playing with people and our best friends life!
We had an amazing experience today at this vet. Dr.Larrosa was very caring and thorough with our dog Milo who has an ear infection! We would definitely recommend this vet!
