Went in to get my knee looked at because I tweaked it playing sports. I told them it was probably ligament or tendon damage and it’s not bone. Still got me to get an X-ray. Then proceeded to schedule me an MRI after no signs of bone damage injury in the X-ray. They schedule me for this Saturday. They just called me twice pressuring me to change my appointment because they want to close early for Labor Day weekend. I reminded them I work in until 4pm Saturday and couldn’t. They said fine and we will keep the scheduled time. Then calls back to tell me my insurance hasn’t even approved the MRI yet after telling me her boss doesn’t want to be open that late. But then pressures me to come in at 6am before I work at 730am. So if my insurance hasn’t approved it wouldn’t you tell me to push back the day of the appointment? Nope just happy they get what they want and get to enjoy their weekend. Get the patient money and get to leave early? It’s a win-win right?
Tina is absolutely wonderful. Allison’s nurse- is not even near it. I had a appointment in Jan 2022 with Allison, NP and she referred me for back injections. I HAVE YET to know anything about this appointment referral. Tina is the nurse manager she called me back after me leaving FIVE messages to 2 Allison’s nurse Amanda, 1 general line, 1 to Kevin the practice manager. Tina was the fifth voicemail and she did what any normal person would do, calls back. I am now having to find a place that will take me and make me wait longer due VCU not taking people where the referral was sent. I have been dealing with this pain since August 2021.
Over the years, I have had numerous positive experiences with the doctors and staff at Tuckahoe Orthopedics. My first experiences were with Dr. William Johnstone for a Silastic Arthroplasty PIP Joint in my finger, and Dr. Walter Rabhan for a back issue. Both of these doctors were caring, identified my problems, and took care of the issues. My next experience was with Dr. Shannon Wolfe who has taken care of both rotator cuffs and continues to manage my needs. Following my first appointment with Dr. Wolfe, I happened to be visiting my mother-in-law at a hospital the next day when I heard a doctor talking to an elderly woman in the next bed. The curtain was barely open, and I saw Dr. Wolfe holding the woman's hand while comforting her. I'll never forget this act of kindness, and it showed me the type of person that he is. During one of my visits following this, I mentioned it to his nurse Michelle and she confirmed that he's that kind of a person. Michelle has been one of my favorite nurses. During my visits with Dr. Wolfe, he always greets me with a handshake and makes you feel that he is genuinely concerned. Following Dr. Johnstone's retirement and passing, Dr. John Blank was referred for the second PIP Joint since it had been more than twenty years from the initial surgery. It was another positive experience with Dr. Blank, and I see him now as needed. Dr. Victoria Matt saw me for a foot issue, corrected the problem, and was very caring. Dr. Matthew Dobzyniac repaired my oldest son's labrum due to a football injury 27 years ago, and my son hasn't had a problem since. My wife and I have also seen Dr. "D" for hip issues and totally trust him. My most recent experience has been with Sean Little who is a Physician Assistant. I injured my back during the snow storm in January 2022 when we lost 55 trees on our property with eight across our driveway and also helping clear the driveways of my neighbors. With the help of Sean Little and my physical therapist, I have progressed from using a walker in February, to a cane for most of March, followed by a limp for April. I'm now back to cutting wood and playing golf as I've learned to work and play smarter based on this experience. I think of Sean Little as a doctor and I call him that, because he is the model for what a doctor should be. I've never written a review for a doctor or for a business such as Tuckahoe Orthopedics, but I just felt that it was time to recognize a group of people who take pride in helping others. My Husband made an appointment, recommended by his PC Physician. I was thrilled, many years ago I had 2 different types of surgeries, both performed by Physicians from Tuckahoe Orthopedics. Loved both the Surgeons. I checked your website, Medicare is listed as being taken. My Husband paid for the Specialist co-pay requirement upon arrival. He had just finished filling out the multiple pages of his history, and then he is told our particular type of Medicare is not taken. We will pay out of pocket, and be reimbursed "Out of Network." He went on to explain that we recently had done this when a specific Doctor was recommended to me. Despite my Husband's best efforts of explaining, he was denied seeing the Doctor. How appalling! I am so upset that Tuckahoe Orthopedics would not at least check further at being paid your fee and just submit paperwork for a Senior Citizen to be reimbursed. That is the only thing that is wrong with us. We are older, not poor or needy, or trying to get something for free. We asked to pay full price, submit paperwork for reimbursement. You would wish for Patients like us with credit scores well above excellent! Sorry you lost out because we are really nice people besides being great payers.
Finally called me back exactly 1 hr 5 mins after my appt time. Signed in 3 mins before my appt time. My time is every bit as important as this doc’s time. Wouldn’t have come here had I known they run their practice like this. Oh and there’s NO Verizon signal in the office.
My husband received a call to schedule an appointment because his PCP had sent a referral over. He mentioned that he had seen Dr. Beach in the past and somehow, in the time it took to transfer him from the appointment line to Dr. Beach's office, his referral disappeared. According to Kathy, there was never a referral.. but that makes absolutely no sense as he was called by that office to make an appointment. If there was never a referral, how did they get his number to call him? He's canceled the appointment and will just go somewhere else.
Waiting Room during high COVID surge had several people not wearing masks on their faces properly as well as the receptionist. The medical assistants were rude and did not look at me when asking a series of questions. The doctor did not have my medical records, that I confirmed were received by her office. The wait was over an hour to see the doctor.
I highly recommend Dr. Beach. I FIRST went to another doctor and was immediately told I needed rotator cuff surgery. I almost did it but didn't feel good about it so got a second opinion with Dr. Beach. He said I needed PT. I went to PT, did my home exercises religiously, and have never had another problem with that particular problem. I tell everyone how Dr. Beach "saved me" from going under the knife. Cannot say how grateful I am.
I have had several surgeries at Tuckahoe in the past with all being exceptional as far as recovery and satisfaction with my doctor. However, I went to Tuckahoe on 2/11/2021 for a second opinion on my knee. I had meniscus repair last March and since then I have been in constant pain despite trying injectons, PT, and prescription anti-inflammatories. I saw Dr. Dobzyniak. He was awful! He spent less than 10 minutes with me, wouldn't let me explain my entire history, and only touched my knee twice to feel it when I raised and lowered my leg. He didn't ask where my pain was or how it was affecting my quality of living. He had no interest in seeing my CT scans, although he did read the report, but proceeded to tell me he only makes a decision regarding surgery based on x-rays. Further, he couldn't give me any other non-surgical suggestions other than I just have to live with the pain. This doctor basically dismissed me without really listening to me. I was just an x-ray to him. Horrible!! I called the office and left a message regarding my concerns, but I haven't heard anything back. I guess they don't care about patient satisfaction.
Had an apt at 2:45pm didn’t get out until after 5pm and left with an ineffective too big standard arm sling for a collarbone for a 3 yr old. Obviously a toddler needs something that fits properly and is a little more secure to be effective! I feel like we were just given what was available and sent home not something that my child actually needed. Disappointed with the whole experience.
