I love going to the dentist now especially since I've switched my dentist. Dr. Mims and all of the staff are always so pleasant very kind and genuine. I feel so comfortable about taking my babies to see her which is why I switched dentist to begin with. They all make sure I'm comfortable and that speaks volumes. When she's asks me how I'm doing I know she really cares to know. I have had some bad experiences with previous dentists which made me nervous to get shots in my mouth but now I don't even stress over when I need to get numb because I know Dr Mims will make me feel comfortable and it really isn't painful when she does it. I've recommended her to my family and friends and to anyone who ask I would say set an appointment with her! She's great and you'll agree with me after your 1st appointment! -Tina A Ps they even have a prayer box there! The best thing ever! To know your dentist and the staff there will pray for you if and when needed.
I am so thankful for Dr. Mims & her staff. They are very warm & friendly. I highly recommend Smile Institute!!
I found Dr Mims years ago by reading online reviews. Office staff are always friendly, professional, and personable. They get you in and out and provide good conversation while you're there. Dr Mims is A-MAZING! Not only is she knowledgable, pleasant, and genuinely cares about her patients and her craft, but she is #Smilegoals. She has the most perfect teeth and she's always smiling from ear to ear, needless to say, I trust her with mine! This is the first dentist I've ever felt truly comfortable with and not judged based on how healthy or unhealthy my teeth are. I feel like family when I'm there and I always leave with more knowledge than what I came in with. Dr Mims and the staff teach as they work! The office is nice AND clean. Things are updated, no peeling paint or torn up carpet. Dr Mims has nice massaging chairs, semi private dental pods, and the option of listening to music in head phones to ease anxiety. The waiting area is a small intimate space with nice low lights which also helps with calming prior to your dental work; AND there's a TV in the waiting room which teaches you more about dental health/hygiene / and dental work. There is also a pryer box in the entry way, it makes the place feel so homely, judgment free, and welcoming. As long as my dental insurance covers it, I plan to follow Dr Mims and staff wherever they go! -Veronica B. RN.
This is the most gentle, kind, soft spoken, considerate dentist I've ever met. I have had serious anxiety since a really bad dental experience about 10 years ago, so I've not been a regular patient anywhere since that time. Dr. Tucker-Sims put my heart at ease QUICKLY! You won't regret allowing her to be your dentist. I found her through reviews like this. At the time the Smile Institute and she had 4.9 out of 5 of 237 reviews. I had to see for myself. I'm glad I did!
I've been a devoted fan of Dr. Mims since 2008 because she is simply OUTSTANDING. The Dr. and virtually everyone of her staff are skillful, professional and thorough, while also genuinely warm and caring -- you never feel like you're on a dental office conveyor belt, a sense you commonly get in the larger, more corporate practices. I highly recommend!!
I am an avid supporter of Black Business owners. After speaking with a relative of mine I was told of her practice. I made an appointment and asked extensive questions because I get my teeth cleaned 4 times a year. I pay for it twice and my insurance pays for the other two times a year. While making my appointment I asked for a call ahead of time as a reminder. School is approaching and I hadn't received a call nor did I know when school was going to start or if it was going to start because of COVID 19. I knew that I normally get my teeth cleaned before school starts. I finally got an email on August 10 at 8:30 pm stating that I go back to work on August 12 at 8:00 am. So the next day August 11 I called the dental office at around 9:30/9:45 am to find out when is my appointment because I never got a call. The receptionist said, "It's on the 12th tomorrow at 9:30 am." I said, "I can't make it I have to work, can I reschedule?" She told me at that point I had not given a 24 hour notice for the cancellation. I was about 15 min after 24 hours. I said okay, good bye. I called back and asked "why did I not get a call about my appointment?" The receptionist, Jennifer said, "we did call you, and she said the dates that they texted and called me." I said, "I never got a call or a text." I then asked her, "What number did you call?" Jennifer said, 414-557-????" I said, "that's not my number." I asked to reschedule, Jennifer said nothing was available until January. I then said, it's good to know that this wasn't completely my fault. I called my district to confirm some off days because I don't work in Wisconsin and again things are rapidly changing due to our current condition. So this time I called to schedule an appointment in March and I wasn't going to pay $25. I was told that if I wanted to reschedule I would have to pay $25 to secure my appointment. At that point I wanted to talk with the Dentist. I went to their office and they weren't not allowing people to come in due to our current conditions. I tried to reschedule for March and I was consistently told that I would have to pay $25 to secure my appointment. I said, I'm not paying $25 when this was partly your fault. I left a message with Jennifer for the Dentist and even reached out to her via instant message on facebook. She never returned my called but sent me a letter saying that they couldn't meet my expectations. I was very disappointed in the customer service. Not one time did her receptionist take responsibility for their actions by calling the wrong number 4 times. I never received an apology and the dentist did not call me back but sent me a letter. The letter states that we've had conversations. This is hilarious because she never called me back and I have never spoken to this woman in my life. That was poor customer service from the dentist and her staff.
