Tuffy Auto Service - Glendale Heights

I was in there today and the gentleman there were the nicest and most respectful people I’ve even met. I usually get treating poorly like the “dumb women” and they never treating me like that. And they treated my daughter with the same respect. Unfortunately I bought a lemon and they are very knowable about the car and was it needs to be safe. Very impressive and would highly recommend to anyone.

Unfortunately my brakes went out before my parts arrived to fix them myself, so I had my car towed to Tuffys for repair, which is kiddy corner to the Discount Tire off Bloomingdale rd. Jason is very nice, personable and attentative. Their prices are competitive with other local shops. I explained the situation and he assured me, he'll do a good look over to make sure there aren't any other issues aside from what I currently had going on, so that gave me a piece of mind. They had all the parts they needed to replace brake pads and rotors for front and rear and replaced the rear calipers. This job could have been done same day except my insurance company left me stranded for over 5 hours, so I didn't make it to the shop until they were about to close. My car went up on the lift that evening then and they finished it late morning the next day. I was at work that day, so I simply paid over the phone, and went to get the car with my fiance after work. They charged 350/axle for parts and labor, just under 100 to bleed the system and replace with brand new fluid, and whatever shop fees ontop of that and of course, taxes. Jason did mention a life time warranty on the brakes. Vehicle repair is just expensive in general, so I feel like I'd be way more in the hole if I went else where. Overall, super happy with my experience, the customer service, and turn around time. I would return here for future services. Apparently they offer financing too, but I did not need to finance, so I cannot speak on the details of what they offer. On the ride home, I kept the air and radio off to be able to listen to the car, and it braked smoothly and beautifully and zero noise. I took my Tesla Model X to Tuffy's for a 4 wheel alignment and and overall 4 year inspection of the brakes. Jason took great care of my car and looked it over thoroughly. Their mechanic did the alignment, both the front and rear of the Tesla was out of spec, but they fixed it and the car drives MUCH BETTER now. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

A review well deserved. Several wks ago I was parked in the parking lot near Tuffy for a meal. After finished my key would not turn in the ignition. After several attempts no luck. It was certainly fate being in that lot. Walked over to Tuffy the manger graciously offered to help, still no luck key wouldn’t turn. One of the mechanics finally got the key to turn after several attempts. They both were very kind and professional, assisted me offering repairs and offered to use their loaner car. I so appreciate them getting me on my way i was quite a way from home. Thank you so much. My apology for the delayed review.

Went in for just a oil change knowing I had work needing to be done on my vehicle, and when I went to check out the mechanic told me I had numerous of things wrong with my car racking up a tremendous price to fix. When I told him I wasn’t interested he told his fellow mechanic “close them up and get them out of here because they are wasting my time”. Seeing I’m a customer I’m coming here for an oil change and I don’t feel it’s a waste of time, it’s actually very important to me how my car gets worked on. I don’t like it when they rush it. I been coming here for about a year but after this I think I’ll be heading to a new location.

The front valence on my Camry bent over in the parking lot. I went in to ask if I could borrow some tools to get it off. They just did for me in like 10 minutes and didn't even charge me for labor. Super nice guys, highly recommend!

Ron and his team have been professional and fair in helping me maintain my daily drivers along with helping me increase the horsepower of my 1989 Chrysler convertible. This review is a few months late, but I had a coupon for here from Discount Tire across the way after getting new tires for an alignment, as my truck needed it after having work done to the front end as well. Initially, the guys here tried their hardest but could not perform the alignment because my tie rod ends and sleeves were badly rusted and unable to budge. They did not charge me a penny for the labor and fully explained what I needed done. A month or so later, I finally had the parts replaced and brought it back. The Tuffy guys still honored my coupon from Discount and did a perfect alignment on my truck. I am very pleased with the work that was done, and I thank Jason I believe that's his name and his team for getting it done properly, quickly, and for still honoring my coupon!Service: Wheel alignment

Previously I have had some experiences with questionable mechanics, and based on transparency of communication and unsolicited demonstrations of wear on our car depth of brakes, grooves on rotors, etc I really trust Jason and his staff. He actually went above and beyond to accommodate a special request probably had compassion on me given my two young kids!. Good communication, quick service, and most importantly—trustworthy mechanics. And best price on full synthetic oil changes in the area! We’ll definitely be taking our car here for any needs in the foreseeable future.
