We had gotten into town and wanted to meet a friend for a late lunch, and he found this place. My wife grew up near here and had never heard of Tullio's. Due to the off time we were there, it was very quiet, and started picking up as we were leaving with regulars that come for early dinner. We got some garlic bread to start which was really delicious. The iced tea is strong and flavorful. I usually get the special, and ended up with the carbonara which had lots of pancetta in a creamy sauce. The pasta here is really great, and not run of the mill restaurant pasta. My daughter is never content with kid's menus and ordered the flatiron steak, which comes with mushrooms and sauce that's really good. My wife got the Chicken Dore which she said was really fantastic. I don't know how we missed this spot before on previous trips, but when in town, it's likely we'll be back!
Last night was the first time my family 'ate in' at Tullio's although we've had their food at a number of events. What a great experience! Very family friendly, excellent service, lovely atmosphere... Dean made us feel like we've been regulars for years. The food was generously portioned and high quality - cannot recommend enough!
My co-workers and I ate here yesterday on our lunch break. I loved the décor. I wanted to eat light so I ordered the chicken Cesar salad and it was good. The dressing was superb! My co-worker had the ravioli and he liked it. Our service was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. All I ask is for good food and good service, and I got it. More than pleased!
This place is one if my family's all time favorites. They pretty much do everything shockingly well. My kids have eaten every pizza in town and would go here every time if given the choice. You feel like family here. Not because they yell at you and make you wash your own dishes, but because they genuinely care that you enjoy your experience. That's a place you never get tired going to.
Tullio's is awesome! The food was absolutely delicious, I have a feeling we found our new Italian spot. Great for families, kid's menu portions are very generous and yummy! Owners were in the restaurant and very active, delivering food and chatting with customers.
The service lacked consistency and dedication. Be attentive to your customers and you will be rewarded. The pasta was tasty and satisfactory. The garlic bread was a huge disappointment. Bread with something sprinkled on it, didn't even have a hint of garlic. The bruschetta was better, but I was still disappointed as they melted cheese on it. ??? The complimentary bread was a tad stale from being out in the open air, but was still tasty. Will I go back? No. Just was not impressed enough to warrant a second visit.
Try the tomato basil sauce with a cheesy pasta like ravioli. Excellent! One of the breads is delicious, and one of the breads is plain and unexceptional. Husband usually gets the large antipasto salad and enjoys every bit of it. They're always accommodating whatever damn mood he's in for the day, as well.
I ordered the calimari steak and nowhere did I notice in the description that it was going to be a fried batter in a creamy sauce. The batter literally slipped off the steak as I cut into it. unfortunately, it was a greasy unappetizing dish. I've been in one other time & felt the service was slow and unspectacular. I remember ordering the salmon at the time. May be I just need to stick to pasta.
Mediocre food, with unfriendly service. We drove from San Mateo County to meet family who came down from Winters. Picked this one due to the high reviews. Shortly after being seated, we apparently offended our waiter as we were busy talking and hadn't chosen our lunch! Bland sauces, mediocre food followed. I'd rather eat from the hot bar at whole foods.
We enjoyed their dinner specials - homemade whole grain fettuccine with chicken and tomatoes and the chopped salad. The chicken parmigiana was made just right, with homemade tomato sauce, not overwhelmed with cheese and slightly salty just like they would make it in Italy. The only thing missing was in-house Italian bread, but otherwise good eating!
