Tulsa County Bar Association

About

The mission of the Tulsa County Bar Association is to serve as a resource for Tulsa lawyers and for members of the Tulsa community.

Description

The Tulsa County Bar Association (TCBA), was founded on October 3, 1903 by ten members of the Tulsa legal community. Today membership exceeds 2,200 attorneys, and the TCBA is one of the premier legal service and education groups in the country.

Our growth and steadily increasing effectiveness are a result of continuing effort and refining of the services we offer to the community and our members. A voluntary organization whose members donate their time, TCBA has been recognized nationally for our innovative and successful community programs.

By providing assistance with legal services to the poor and the individual in need of help, the TCBA fills a crucial need in the community. In the heart of the city at 15th and Boston, the TCBA headquarters location is convenient for the public as well as for our members.

The Tulsa County Bar Association continues to meet the challenge those ten members assumed so many years ago. Individual Tulsans of all ages, ethnic groups and backgrounds, as well as the community as a whole, benefit daily from the dedication of our members.

A Board of Directors governs the activities of the TCBA. It is made up of the Executive Committee, which includes the Association’s president, president-elect, vice president, treasurer, secretary, immediate past president and the budget chair. The TCBA executive director, federal presiding judge, district presiding judge, Auxiliary president, ABA delegate, TU Law School Dean, committee chairmen, the Law Library Trustee and eight directors at large which are elected by the membership, complete the Board.

The Tulsa County Bar Foundation, through its educational and charitable efforts, is continuing to expand our role of keeping the legal system accessible.

By providing seminars on topics of concern to public, the Foundation not only informs citizens concerning their rights, but also educates on the role of the judicial system an the use of alternative forms of the judicial system and the use of alternative forms of dispute resolution as a means to settle and resolve their disputes. The Foundation also sponsors and promotes the annual Law Week, its most visible public event. Activities include a law fair, court tours, mock trials, school poster contest, and speakers for school and civic groups. The Ask-A-Lawyer and Lawyer in the Library programs allows the public access to a lawyer for answers to legal questions without legal expense.

Through charitable donations to organizations such as Legal Services of Eastern Oklahoma and the TU Law Clinic, the Foundation fills a critical need in the community in assuring that those individuals in need of legal assistance have a place to turn regardless of financial ability.

This is the most racist place in Tulsa that I have ever encountered. I called months ago trying to get a lawyer referral and a woman told me I needed 25$ and she asked about my problem and I told her, it also came about that I am black. I told her I would call back when I get the money, she said okay. I called last Friday and spoke very nicely and sweet telling a woman I have the 25$ now, I was telling the woman what the 25$ is for and the woman cut me off mid sentence and told me she remembers me and she doesn’t want to help me and she can’t help me and then she hung up the phone on me. I was in complete utter shock. I did absolutely nothing wrong. I called back a couple times in shock and then she put the phone to voicemail. I called back today on Monday and thought the manager would apologize for her workers action, she informed me it was actually her who hung up on me and she was proud. She said that she is the Director. I believe her name is HEATHER HECK or TAMMY WILLIAMS . She is very unprofessional, a rude racist, and she is unkind in all aspects. She has no sympathy or compassion towards black people. She said there is nobody else I can speak to. She didn’t care at all how horrid she treated me for no reason, she didn’t apologize, she was happy to be so mean and disrespectful. I asked if I can have her name she refused to give me her name. I asked to make a formal complaint. She refused to let me make a formal complaint, I asked for corporate number she refused to give it to me, and she called me vulgar names, threatened me and hung up the phone on me again. I am in shock again. I didn’t do anything to deserve to be treated in a horrific way. If anybody knows the owner of this place, can they please contact me. Or corporate number. I would like to make a formal complaint. Please do not go to this place. They are very racist. They do not care about the problems you need help with if you’re black.
I came in and received exceptional service from the entire staff. Heather was very helpful and Elyse gave me water for my thirst. I left with so much information and help that I know what path to take legally now. Many thanks to all of the staff!
The paralegal representing the Tulsa County, Ms. Haug, has been of immense service in assisting my wife & I with a medical billing issue that had us at wits end. With her assistance, we were able to advance our issue through channels correctly to expedite a resolution that appears to be justifiable. Thank you.
I have used their lawyer referral service 3 times and it’s such a great service. I was able to go in and speak with the staff, who are all so friendly & caring! I think it was the director that gave me a cold drink bcuz it was such a hot day. If you’re needing an attorney for a specific type of case or if you don’t know if you have a case you need to utilize this service. Navigating the legal system is difficult if you don’t know what you’re doing. Each time I’ve used it, each attorney during our telephone consultation was very knowledgeable and eager to assist. You can’t beat only paying $25 for legal advice! Thank you Tulsa County Bar Association!
Jeril Haug was professional, transparent, and informative. I hope Jeril Haug the best and never change unless it's for the better.
Jeril was an amazing help! she guided and helped me out in every possible way she could & thanks to her I have everything I need to proceed with my case.
The referral website is easy to navigate. $25 is an affordable investment for consultation compared to hundreds of dollars quoted by some law firms for similar time. Great choice when you don't know who to call for legal help.
The TCBA is a Tulsa institution. Volunteer lawyers and professional staff have worked hard over many years to maintain its excellent position as a professional association, a resource for the community, and a historical reference. I'm proud to be a part of its growth and future.
They will charge you $25.00 for attorney referrals for bad faith claims against State Farm Insurance like a good neighbor? What a lie that is! Tulsa Bar Association will give you two attorneys that work for Start Farm Insurance. Talk about rip-off!
Jeril is amazing 10/10 helped me get what I needed. Fruit basket coming your way
