The Twin Lakes Retired Police Officers Scholarship Foundation is a nonprofit organization comprised mainly of retired law enforcement officers. The main purpose of the organization is to fund post-high school scholarships for the children and grandchildren of active and retired law enforcement officers. All applicants must reside in Baxter or Marion County, Arkansas.
The scholarship is named for Thomas P. Brennan, a retired Chicago police officer, deceased, who was one of thefounders and first president of this organization. The number of scholarships and the amount of each award is dependent on the number of applications received and the monies available. Applications must be made on the forms provided. All applications and attachments become the property of the Foundation. All unused portions of the award are to be returned to the Foundation upon withdrawal or removal from that college.
Scholarships will be based on academic achievement, community involvement and moral character. No preference will be made based on employment position, length of service, salary, sex, religion or race. Financial need may be a consideration. Preference may be given to applicants pursuing a course of study in law enforcement, criminology or criminal justice.
