You might want to teach officer Nettles and your Ordinance officers how to count! New Year and no Orange Crush to deal with, keep the meter maids busy and get that 5 million in parking revenue. Great job chasing the signage issue informing the tourists the rules of the land! Still missing access points last time I was there. Their mission statement is furthest from the truth! Judge. Honorable Steven Scheer is the judge that can't hear thru his mask. A officer and code enforcement official lie under oath and denies the ability to defend yourself. Be careful when visiting this extortionist town. One Citation x 3! $1100 fine 14 hrs of driving and 2 days of work lost to fight a corrupt judicial system only interested in bringing in cash. Know Their Rules before thinking about going there. NO MERCY!
Just saw the video on WSB TV of a Tybee Island Police Officer tase a female after a brief foot chase. This officer should be FIRED! He has no tactical arrest skills. He should have used hand on skills to effect the arrest. Make no mistake, I am not Monday morning quaterbacking. I retired 30 years as an Assistant Precinct Commander/Captain from a large Atlanta Metropolitan area police department. I found the actions of the officer to be an abuse of power and the officer appeared unconfident in his mechanic of arrest. It is officer like this the give the law enforcement community a bad name. And to think you will get a conviction on felony obstruction... good luck. The City of Tybee Island should be ashame of this officer action.
My wife, who has a mental condition, had a mental break recently. The cops who responded where top notch, professional, trained in mental health care, and knew what they were doing in terms of keeping the situation calm, not escalating, and knew that sending my wife to the ER was necessary. My sister who works in mental health as a social worker was equally impressed. My wife is getting out of the hospital today, and we're well aware that the initial response when this incident began helped a great deal.
Moved to Tybee and I went to get a background check and some things happened that I'm not going to say but there were 2 officers that truly we're a big help and we're understanding and all around outstanding officer's. One is officer Nate and the other is officer kora. Thank both of you for all your help.
I’ve know Chief Bryson for 20 years and he has assembled and managed one of the finest municipal police departments in my experience that includes several departments in the Savannah area, Connecticut and across the North East US.
Stereotypical small town tourist shakedown trap - giving out $500 tickets to 4 kids for "walking on a Jetti?". There is no sign and no warnings visible. This is illegal entrapment and will eventually be prosecuted. Stay away from this police run sting conspiracy.
Respect the speed limits and stay safe around town and no problemos Yo! Drive like your kids live here. Beach time , what is yo rush ....lol I like the cool patrol cars. I drive like yo grandmom so get off my tail.
Completely inept at clearing accidents on the only route to and from the island. Stay away from tybee when they have events going on.
No Amenities and the showers were gross
